This document specifies the requirements for a theodolite to be used for topographic surveying. The theodolite must have a 30x magnification, objective diameter of at least 40mm, field of view of 1°30' to 1°40', and be able to focus as close as 2m. It must operate between 0-60°C, have a lifetime of over 5 years, and come with accessories including staffs, cases, and manuals. The tripod must extend to 1600mm and allow mounting of the theodolite and accessories.
