What is government…? The act of governing; the exercise of authority; the administration of laws; control; direction; regulation. Have you heard people talk about government before?
It started with people like you and I. Long ago people that first came to America started our government that we have today.
People just like YOU! Yes, that is right. The government is made of people that are just like you.  People who work for  the government are important  to a lot of different people! .
Do you think Grandbear was important to Baby Bear? What made you think he was important? How did he show that he was not important?
Who can you think of that is important to you? Grandma? Grandpa? Mom? Dad? Aunts? Uncles? Brothers? Sisters? Cousins? Neighbors? Friends?  Teachers?
Who are you important to? Brothers? Sisters? Neighbors? Friends? Cousins? Pets? Why are you important to these people?
Everyone gets one page of the coupons that are at each table. Color your coupons. On one of the blank coupons draw a picture of the person you would like to give the coupon book to.  Take your scissors and cut each coupon out.  I will come around and staple your books together.  Lets do something to show the people who are important to us that we care!
