Analysis of deodorant TV Adverts

Alexandra Burke Sure TV Advert
Product Brand: Sure
Style of Advert: Realist
Target Audience: Female
How does it sell the product: because it is catchy and you recognise
the famous singer. It shows that it does work because she is working
hard and moving around all the time but it is stopping her from getting
sweaty and smelling.
Typical conventions:
   • She sprays the deodorant
   • They then show Alexandra Burke moving about

In this TV Ad they used a variety of camera angles and shots, from
close ups of medium shots and close ups of Alexandra Burke spraying
the deodorant. It then shows long shots of Alexandra on stage and with
males surrounding her. They then have a long shot of the different
types of deodorants that they do.
Nivea Deodorant Advert
Product Brand: Nivea
Style of Advert: Realist/Demonstrate
Target Audience: Female
How does it sell the product: because it shows she is on her feet
working etc, and she always has her arms up and they are not sweaty
and don’t smell showing the deodorant is protecting her from this.
Typical conventions:
   • Voice over
   • Close up of the branded product
   • They show her under arms looking soft and smooth to go with
       what they say.
   • They then show her under arms to prove that she isn’t sweaty.

In this TV Ad they used a variety of camera angles and shots, from
close ups of the face of the person, to medium shots so you can see
her spraying the deodorant. They also used close ups of the deodorant
can.
