5. What is Global
• Global warming is the gradual increase in the
earth's surface temperature.
• Global warming itself is not a bad thing, just the
rate at which it is now warming is unnatural and
dangerous to the Earth.
• The overabundance of greenhouse gases is the
primary cause of global warming.
• Greenhouse gases are heat-trapping gases that are
mostly emitted by humans.
6. What is Global
• Carbon dioxide is the most common gas responsible for global
warming.
• Other gases, such as methane, water vapor,
chlorofluorocarbons, and nitrous oxide, are far stronger than
carbon dioxide but still do not match to the damage carbon
dioxide has done.
• The Greenhouse Effect is what keeps the Earth from being an
unstable environment temperature-wise, but when too many
gases are trapped, an unusual amount of heat is created.
• The depletion of the ozone layer makes it more thin, letting
more UV Rays penetrate our atmosphere, also adding to the
increased heating.
12. How is it related
• Global warming largely affects the global climate. With all of the
temperature increases, the climate will have to react and ultimately
change.
• Water use, heating, the seasons, sea level, cooling, and weather
overall will change due to global warming.
• Signs of this have already occurred with melting of glaciers,
unnatural average temperatures, increase of natural disasters, odd
weather patterns, sea level rising, and much more.
• Climate change also comments on how the biosphere will quickly
have to adapt to the large, abrupt changes happening or perish.
• Signs of this have already occurred with coral reef bleaching,
increase of heat-related illness and disease, migration, extinction or
impending extinction of animals, and much more.
13. Humans and
• Humans are largely responsible for global warming!
• Humans are emitting carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere at rate much higher than before and
much faster than before. The oceans and plants are
not able to keep up and absorb it, leading to the
overall increase in heat.
• Human activities caused largely by industrialization
are responsible. Burning of fossil fuels, pollution,
deforestation, use of CFCs, agriculture, landfills,
natural gas leaks, and much more.
14. Humans and
• Humans can be dangerously impacted from global
warming due to heat waves, cancers and other
diseases, decreased food production, natural
disaster deaths, and even the threat of an ice age.
• Humans are also affected economically,
environmentally, politically, and socially by the
threat of global warming.
• The “Go Green” craze has been a large, positive
response to the threat of global warming. Many
people are realizing their negative impact and
taking steps to reduce it.
26. Our Claim
• Although global warming is negatively
effecting the Earth, it’s just a catalyst
for the unnatural climate change
caused by human activity. People
must be educated about what global
climate change is doing, how it’s
happening, and how to prevent it from
getting worse.
