Dooars valley, an important travel destination in Eastern Himalaya,
is covered with lush green forests and teagardens and intersected
by the rivers like Tista, Torsa, Jaldhaka & their innumerable
tributaries. It is the home of the one horned rhino, gaur and many
other rare species. A tour or a safari through these forests of
Dooars will be a life time experience.

6. Many wildlife sanctuaries and national
parks like Manas National Park in Assam,
Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, Buxa
National Park, Gorumara National Park,
Chapramari Wildlife Reserve and the
Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary in West
Bengal are located in this region.
The Dooars region politically constitutes the plains of the
Darjeeling District, the whole of Jalpaiguri District and the
upper region of Cooch Behar District in West Bengal and the
districts of Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Goalpara and
Bongaigaon in the state of Assam.
