2. The Occitan dances are typical of the Occitan Valleys of Italy,
especially of the mountain communities. They are an
essential gathering place for the local community.
They are still ballads - mainly in the areas of Occitan
Piedmont - in almost all festive occasions in the valleys.
Every valley has retained its own melodies and dances,
different steps and patterns from those of the neighboring
valleys.
The instruments
used are the
traditional ones,
such as the
accordion,
clarinet, violin,
hurdy-gurdy and
the harmonica.

Form boy-girl
couples:
the guy stands
behind the girl
holding her
hands.
Line up and form
a circle.Click on

The girls walk to
the center of the
circle and make a
bow.
The guys take the
time clapping
their hands.

The boys walk to the center of the circle and make a
jump.

Then the pairs have to arranged in the position of the
photo and make 8 jumps around theirself.

8. Step 5
After the 8 jumps, the couple stop and
the guy twirls around the girl.

Finally the couples make 16 steps and return to the circle.
The dance can be repeated until the music is over.
