Sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain One Day Tour
Tour Overview:
The sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain is widely regarded as
a birthplace of the ancient Khmer empire. This hilltop site
has a largest reclining Buddha dedicated to the
independence proclamation of King Jayavarma II in 802
A.D. This outlying temple is rarely visited by tourist
groups. You had better to join.
Tour Itinerary:
The Phnom Kulen has only returned to the government hands after the fall of the Khmer
Rouge and is currently fairly inaccessible because of the poor road conditions especially
in the rainy season. Around 8h30, our tour guide and driver pick you up at your hotel and
drive on a rugged roads toward the holy mountain of Phnom Kulen. On arrival we visit
Ligar carving, a legacy of the God-kings who ruled Cambodia in the ninth century,
sleeping Buddha, and Phnom Kulen waterfall. Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
The trip ends after arrival in Siem Reap Town.
