  • Why do we live in houses? All animals need SHELTER Shelter keeps us warm and safe. Animals live in many different kinds of shelters. Beavers live in lodges. Birds build nests. Foxes live in dens.
  • Our Shelter Humans live in houses. We build many different kinds of houses. What kind of house do you live in? Cabin Apartment Hanok House
  • Why do we need a house? Houses keep us safe from the rain, wind and snow. They have running water and heat to keep us warm. If we lived outside, we would have to build fires, search for water and we wouldn’t be safe from animals or bugs!
  • Our Home! There are different kinds of houses in Korea. We will look at four different kinds of homes: Hanok Choga Jip Apartment House
  • This is a Hanok. It is a traditional Korean home. Some Koreans used to live in Hanok, and some people still do. Hanok
  • Choga Jip This is a Choga Jip. It is also a traditional Korean home. Some Koreans used to live in Choga Jip, and some people, in the countryside, still do.
  • Apartment This is a modern apartment building. Many people in cities live in apartments because there is not a lot of space. Lots of families live together in buildings like these.
  • House This is a house. In the countryside, people live in houses because there is lots of space. Usually, only one family lives in a house.
