The Fondation Chirac and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs formalized a new three-year partnership agreement. The partnership will focus on collaborating to fight fake medicines, fieldwork to strengthen governance in fragile states, and training African experts in sustainable forest management. The partnership combines the goals of the Fondation Chirac and the Ministry to promote development and conflict prevention.

1. The Fondation Chirac signs a partnership agreement
with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On Tuesday 14th December 2010, the Branch of Globalization, Development ant Partnerships of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and the
Fondation Chirac formalized their new partnership.
The three year agreement outlines:
• A collaboration in the fight against fake medicines
• Fieldwork to reinforce governance in fragile states
• And the training of African experts in sustainable forest management
The Ministry is particularly supportive of the Cotonou Declaration, initiated by Jacques Chirac Octobre 12, 2010 in Benin, against the production
and the sales of fake medicines. Since September 2010, special envoy for the fight against the trafic of fake medicines, Mr. Thierry Le Lay, has been
