This document discusses the vision of enterprise optimization and how the Synthesis software supports and can extend that vision. Enterprise optimization means leveraging automation of business processes to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction by increasing efficiencies while minimizing costs by reducing inefficiencies. It involves standardized data, historical context, integration with other systems, and integrated scheduling and forecasting across operational entities. Synthesis supports this vision through centralized data storage, third-party integration capabilities, and integrated forecasting and scheduling. The document asks how attendees would extend the vision of enterprise optimization within their own organizations.

10. Page 10 The Vision of Enterprise Optimization Why should we have this vision of “Enterprise Optimization” as an organizational objective? Maximize revenue-generating efficiencies Minimize inefficiencies that result in higher costs Reduce the risks and costs associated with having the wrong volume of the wrong product at the wrong location at the wrong time (i.e. run-downs or overflows). Increase customer satisfaction through self-service portals and a single-source operational data store. Improve integration and partnering with customers through the “Partner B2B Integration” capabilities and through the Synthesis API and SDK.
12. Page 12 Supporting the Vision Recap: Capture of operational data as it happens, either through direct manual input or integration with existing systems (SCADA, OMNI, TopTech, etc.), and storing the data in a centralized database provides a single source of truth. Historical data grows within Synthesis as time goes on. Synthesis can support any type of average-based forecasting. Synthesis supports third-party integration through adapters and APIs. The implementation and vision of integrated forecasting and scheduling within Synthesis provides visibility and interaction between different operational entities.
