5. The foundation of DryScan began over ten years ago
with a Drying Solutions company which specialised
in the drying of timer framework in buildings prior
to the pre­line building inspection.
This led to an awareness of the continued problem of
moisture in both new and existing homes, and then
with the explosion of the “leaky building syndrome”,
the company founders identified the need for more
detailed testing of the moisture damage occurring in
specific areas.
Drybuild Infrared Solutions was formed to provide in­
depth, non­invasive moisture testing and reporting for
buildings. Having thoroughly researched equipment
and procedures and travelling internationally to test equipment and investigate moisture issues, a
high­tech infrared thermal imaging process with comprehensive reporting procedures was
established in New Zealand. Drybuild pioneered this leading edge technology in New Zealand and
became the first building inspection company to adopt purpose built infrared thermal imaging for
