Introduction
Whey protein is an indispensable staple in the nutritional regimen of a growing population of
athletes, health consumers, infants and the elderly. It has been shown to yield profound health
benefits attributed to its immune boosting, insulin sensitizing, anti-inflammatory and anti-
tumerogenic properties. Whey protein has also been considered ideal for muscle retention and
buildup, due to its unique amino acid composition, immune peptide profile and fast assimilating
character. However, in reality things arenât always as good as in theory. In real life commercial
whey proteins have notable defaults that cannot be overlooked. Ignoring these would be a
GRAVE mistake! What you donât know about your whey protein product can jeopardize your
health and performance.
The following report was written in order to put the record straight regarding commercial whey
proteins. Fact vs. fiction, it blows the lid off the industry to allow you consider your options and
make reasonable decisions.

FACT: Many whey products on the market are
poisoning and you donât even realize it.
Have you ever experienced falling out of shape? Did you ever suffer symptoms such as fatigue,
muscle waste or an undesirable weight gain, and you had no idea why?
When you realize that your body falls out of shape for no reason, itâs extremely frustrating! Whatâs
more frustrating is the fact that youâve done almost everything you were told to keep yourself in
shape. Youâve been training hard, eating healthy and using a protein supplement once or a few
times per day to support your bodyâs needs. Yet despite all this, your body suddenly fails to
respond and then inexplicably your energy drops and your hard gains and strength seem to slip
through your fingers! So what stops your body from being strong and healthy? Whatâs really
going on in your body?
Whatâs going on in your body?
Your body is like a vehicle thatâs built to drive on a certain fuel. Have you ever driven a vehicle
that was put on the wrong fuel? If you did, the first thing you would noticed are the warning lights
on the dashboard and the second thing you would notice is that the vehicle fails to respond.
Your body is a lot like that vehicle.
Youâve been putting the wrong fuel in your body, and itâs not entirely your fault! The reason why
youâve been doing this is because you were told thatâs the right thing to do. You were told that the
ârightâ fuel will nourish your body, build muscle, and boost your immuno defensesâŚ
That fuel is whey protein.
In theory, it really works! But thatâs only in theory... In reality what was once one of the healthiest
foods on earth has been commonly processed into one of the most degraded and polluted
dietary products.
So whatâs the story behind whey protein? How has this superfood been rendered junk?
4. www.WarriorWhey.com
The Truth About Whey Protein
What is Whey Protein?
Whey protein is the water soluble component of raw milk after the precipitation of casein. It is a
by-product of cheese manufacturing that was initially discarded as waste or used for animal feed,
but later on discovered by scientists as one o f the most powerful immuno supportive food
available. Whey protein has been classified as a super food, attributed to its exclusive health
enhancing ingredients. It has the highest amino acid score among all proteins and the fastest
nutrient delivery. A predominate component in mammalsâ breast milk, whey is naturally designed
to support newborn growth and provide immune protection against infections and disease.
But to provide these benefits, the whey must be whole and non-denatured. And it should be
derived from healthy pasture-raised grass-fed cows.
Unfortunately that isnât the case in reality.
In reality many whey proteins available on the market are rendered useless. Thatâs due to five
major problems in the sourcing and processing of the whey.
Problem 1: Most Whey Proteins Are Derived From
Unhealthy Grain Fed Cows.
Most whey proteins are derived from grain-fed cows which are commonly crowded, overfed,
overstressed, and routinely treated with antibiotics and hormones which accumulate in the milk
and whey. The result:
The typical whey protein is drenched with antibiotics and hormones .
And yes, this is the kind of stuff you may have been putting in your bodyâŚ
But thatâs not all. You should be seriously concerned with the processing methods used to
manufacturer this stuff.
5. www.WarriorWhey.com
Problem 2: Many Whey Products Are Over-Heated
And Acid-Treated
Many whey protein powders are made from ultra pasteurized milk. Pasteurization destroys the
most vital immuno components in the whey. Heat processing breaks down the fragile molecular
bonds of key amino acids rendering the whey deficient and inferior.
Furthermore, many whey products including some of those so-called grass-fed are precipitated via
acid treatment. That seems to be the cheapest way to separate the whey from the casein curd
during cheese manufacturing. Acidification damages the whey similar to heat processing.
Heat and acid change the original water soluble configuration of the protein molecules rendering
them denatured and insolubleâŚwhich then presents a serious problem to the supplement
manufacturers:
It is difficult to sell a non-soluble protein.
To resolve this, whey manufacturers use chemical detergents which create another problem.
Problem 3: Most Whey Proteins Are Instantized
With Chemical DetergentsâŚ
The cheapest industrial way to turn an insoluble protein into a water soluble one is via chemical
detergents. The detergents are added to an emulsifier, typically GMO soy lecithin, which is then
sprayed over the whey powder in a process called instantization. This is how the vast majority of
whey proteins today are instantized to gain a viable solubility. The detergents used are surfactants
such as ethoxylated mono-diglycerides, propylene glycol and polyscorbate 80 all of which are
common ingredients in soap and shampoo manufacturing as well as in household cleaning
products.
Yes, you may have been putting soap chemicals in your body!
The chemical industry states that low level exposure is âsafeâ but according to growing body of
research, these detergents may present a serious health risk with potential side effects on the
liver and the central nervous system if sufficient amounts are absorbed and accumulated in the
body.
Think that is bad? Thereâs more!

Problem 4: Some of the Most Popular Whey Products Were Found
To Contain Alarming Concentrations Of Heavy Metals.
A July 2010 article in Consumer Reports Magazine indicated that whey products, including some
of the most popular brands and biggest names in the US, were tested to contain alarmingly high
concentrations of heavy metalsâŚincluding lead, arsenic and cadmiu m.
Whey protein is not supposed to be high in heavy metals. If it is, itâs probably due to
contamination related to dirty processing or high chemical content in the cowsâ feed. Such
contamination is not something you can afford overlooking.
Again, the industry denies the facts. They say that the lab results were misleading. They argue
that heavy metals are ânaturally occurringâ and ânormal.â
So how does this affect you?
Quite frankly, this is such a mess you donât really know what to expect. You can only estimate
how much damage these man-made heavy metals may cause if accumulated overtime.
And there is another issue with whey protein. Thatâs in addition to drugs and hormones, bad
processing, chemical pollution and heavy metal contamination. Yet this issue is highly
controversial.
Problem 5: Whey Protein Isolate
All the slick marketing and advertising for your favorite protein supplements tout the magic of
whey protein isolate. Manufacturers of whey isolate claim that it helps build muscle better and
faster than any other protein.
Here are the facts.
Protein isolates do not fit human biology. Thatâs including whey isolate. These proteins are over-
processed, unbalanced and devoid of nutritional cofactors such as minerals, vitamins and lipids
which are removed in the processing. But here is the worst part:
Protein isolates yield unnaturally high concentrations of protein to which the human body has
never evolved. There is not even one single food in nature that contains 90% protein.
7. www.WarriorWhey.com
The human body canât effectively utilize food processed for 90% protein.
Here is why:
Protein is an acid forming food. When ingested frequently in overly high concentrations wit hout
its naturally occurring alkalizing cofactors such as calcium, magnesium or potassium, it over-
acidifies the body. Such is the case with whey protein isolates and it gets even worse when the
protein is acid treatedâŚ
So when protein intake is chronically high (such as with athletes and bodybuilders) whey isolate
becomes a liability. If consumed chronically along with the typical high protein diet that
includes meats and other -protein foods, it can overacidify the body. Overacidification of the
body involves notable side effects. These may include
⢠Heartburn
⢠Digestive disorders
⢠Inflammatory disorders Urinary infection
⢠Fatigue
If this condition progresses to metabolic acidosis, it will literally shatters your body.
Metabolic Acidosis Wastes your Muscle and Degrades your Bone Tissues. It
Shatters your Metabolism and Makes you Prone to Inflammation and Disease.
Chronic acidification of the body causes accumulation of toxic ammonia in the tissues which is
then responsible for the typical funky body odor some people have when sweating. Accumulated
ammonia presents a serious risk to your body -- it paralyzes your muscles and impairs normal
brain function.
Metabolic acidosis causes more damage than previously thought. It works like a vicious cycle.
The acidifying effect on the body produces acid metabolites which further disrupts the bodyâs
natural acid/base balance. Desperate to fix this, the body digs into its own tissues pulling out
vital alkalizing minerals for buffering the system.
And as the levels of protein and acid rise, cellular congestion may occur along with loss of bone
and muscle mass followed by a total metabolic shutdown.
8. www.WarriorWhey.com
This does not mean that protein isolates are the main or only cause of metabolic acidosis. What it
indicates is that given the fact that our typical diet is overly acidifying and since a large part of the
population already suffers from acidity related symptoms, itâs crucially important to identify and
eliminate the culprits. Hence, all acid forming foods including protein isolates must be carefully
evaluated. Protein isolates are certainly part of the problem.
So, while youâre being told that whey protein isolate is Godâs gift to muscle building, the truth is a
cold, hard slap in the face. You should be aware of the facts. Protein isolates are unnatural and
biologically inferior. And they should be classified as such. The supplement manufacturers
wonât tell you that. They cover it up in their marketing. But you are the one paying the price â with
your wallet AND your health.
How do you combat the damaging effects of whey protein isolate?
Donât use it!
Your whey protein choice must be whole; not over-processed. In its whole form, whey protein is
naturally bound with alkalizing minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium.
The human body evolved for whole foodâs nutrients, not for synthetic or isolate stuff. Your body
uses these alkalizing minerals to neutralize and eliminate the acidifying effect of the protein. So
when you eat whole whey protein your body can easily maintain its acid/base equilibrium intact.
There is no guesswork as to the ratios of minerals to protein â nature has done it for you.
Remember, your whole whey protein must be non-acid treated.
Stay away from all acid whey products derived from acid cheese or acid casein manufacturing
regardless to how theyâre labeled. All these varieties are acid damaged and unhealthy.
How do you detect a damaged whey?
A damaged whey has a typical funky aftertaste. Supplement manufacturers are aware of the
difficulty of selling protein with a funky aftertaste. They know the consumer wonât like that â which
brings us to the next problem.
9. www.WarriorWhey.com
Problem 7: To Mask the Nasty Aftertaste Of Damaged Whey
Proteins, Manufacturers Use Chemical Flavorings and Dangerous
Additives.
Protein supplement companies use chemical additives, disregarding to their toxic effects. These
include chemical flavoring and coloring, monosodium glutamate (MSG), artificial sweeteners,
chemical detergents, chemical alkalies and chemical preservatives. Also added to the mix are the
so-called ânaturalâ but extremely harmful fructose, corn syrup solids, sucrose, and all kinds of
maltodextrin, which are known for their devastating effects on insulin and sugar metabolism. Most
âlow carbâ protein products use sugar alcohols known for causing severe bloating, digestive
disorders, ethanol toxicity and diarrhea.
Check the nutritional label of your whey protein powder or bar, and compare the ingredients to
this list:
MSG appears under different names such as hydrolyzed protein, calcium caseinate, maltodextrin
and yeast extract. Artificial sweeteners include aspartame, asulfame K and sucralose. Fructose
additives include crystalline fructose, high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup solids.
Beware of all added sugars. Regardless to how theyâre called or classified, they are as
damaging.
Virtually all flavored whey products â bars and powders â contain one or some of these
deleterious ingredients. Theyâre so commonly found in protein products youâd think theyâre
ânormalâ and perhaps okay.
But theyâre not okay!
None of these additives is okay. In fact some of these are known as extremely harmful and
hazardous, so much so that they have been banned by some European countries. MSG has
been linked to brain disease. Chemical sweeteners have been linked to metabolic toxicity and
cancer. Fructose has been linked to obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Now that you know the facts, one question remains:
10. www.WarriorWhey.com
If This Is The Reality Behind The Typical Whey Protein, Why is No One Doing Anything
About it?
The answer is politics and money.
The nutritional supplement industry is a 200 billion dollar enterprise. With this much money,
supplementsâ manufacturers buy media and they lobby in high places⌠they can do virtually
anything they wantâŚ
And theyâre driven by one single motive:
Profit!
The lower the costs, the higher the profits. Thatâs the motto of the whey protein industry -- cheap
processing, cheap chemicals and sugar ingredients equal huge profits. Manufacturers of
conventional whey powders donât want you to know the difference between good and bad. They
want you to believe that crap is quality. They create magical-sounding names and fancy labels to
their proprietary blends of whey protein isolate and hydrolyzed whey.
They want you to keep buying that stuff.
For the whey protein industry, false information and deceit are common means of doing
business. For them, the truth presents a serious threat! If people knew how to choose quality
whey, this industry would have utterly collapsed!

How Do You Find Quality Whey?
How Do You Know Whether Itâs Quality Whey or Not?
You can detect quality whey via Smell, Taste and Solubility. Youâll notice the taste difference
immediately. Once you try a premium whole whey from raw milk of pasture-fed cows, youâll
shake your head with disbelief because the difference is night and day.
Quality whey protein doesnât even resemble the typical manufactured whey powder. It tastes
more like a fresh dairy cream â clean taste, naturally sweet, no aftertaste.
But the aroma, taste and solubility are only your initial indicator s of quality. You still need to
understand what quality whey means. You need to know the real criteria of quality whey. And you
need to know how to find it.
To Be Classified As Quality Whey, the Product Has To Be:
⢠Derived From Pasture-Raised Grass-Fed Cows
⢠Whole & Low Temperature Processed
⢠Non-Acid Treated
To start with, most whey proteins are byproducts of grass-fed farm factory cows. Unlike pasture-
raised cows which are free range, happily grazing and raised by family farms that care about their
animalsâ health, the farm factory cows are inhumanely caged, overly crowded, overly stressed,
grain-overfed and drugged with antibiotics and hormones.
Think about that image for a second⌠on one hand, you have happy, cared -for cows that are
free to roam as they graze on the pasture. On the other hand, you have overly stressed cows
overly crowded, caged in a feed lot, shot up with drugs.
The difference between these two types of cows is substantial and itâs manifested in their milk.
12. www.WarriorWhey.com
Family Farm Pasture-Raised Grass-Fed Cows Yield Healthier Milk
Than Grain Fed Factory Farm Cows âŚ
And They Yield A Superior Whey Protein.
Pasture-raised grass-fed cowsâ milk is superior in every way. The difference is most notable in the
composition of immuno proteins, antioxidants and metabolic supportive lipids. Unfortunately,
theyâre not easy to find.
Why is it Difficult to Find Quality Pasture-raised Grass-fed Whey?
Because the production of quality pasture-raised grass-fed whey protein requires a special
sourcing strategy involving segregation of milk, along with stringent quality controls and supreme
manufacturing standards, all of which involve high costs that most whey manufacturers are not
capable of taking on themselves. The current whey industry is not geared towards quality whey
production. And since most whey proteins today are inferior, they donât possess real whey
properties.
Here are the properties you should expect to get from quality whey protein.
Muscle Nourishing, Immune Boosting
More Impressive Amino Acid And Immune Proteins Profile Than Any
Food In The World.
Whey protein provides all key essential and conditionally essential amino acids, and itâs
remarkably high in the muscle-building branch chained amino acids (BCAA). Pound for pound,
whey protein provides 300% more of the anabolic amino acid leucine to trigger muscle protein
synthesis than meat, chicken, fish or eggs!
But the amino acid profile is not the main property of quality pasture-fed whey. Quite frankly, even
inferior whey proteins have been tested to possess high amino acid scores. Whatâs particularly
unique about quality pasture-raised grass-fed whey protein is its unique immune protiens
profile.
Pasture-fed cowsâ whey protein has a similar composition to human breast milk. Unlike
conventional whey, it provides exclusive immuno proteins and metabolic supportive nutrients to
help support immunity, development and growth.

Health Sustaining, Anti-Inflammatory, Antioxidant
Exclusive Source Of The Glutathione Precursor
Peptide Glutamylcysteine
Glutamylcysteine is the most bioactive form of the fragile amino acid cysteine. Cysteine is
destroyed in most protein foods due to cooking and processing. But the body needs cysteine to
produce its own antioxidant anti-inflammatory peptide glutathione, considered the most important
immuno-molecule in the body. Glutamylcysteine is the most bioactive precursor of gluthathione; it
instantly converts to that master antioxidant molecule, which then participates in all major
immuno activities, protecting your tissues from oxidative damage caused by toxicity, radiation
disease and aging.
To keep your body healthy and strong, you need to sustain high levels of glutathione. It
allows you recover from training or injury; It protects you from infections, chemical
toxicity, radioactive fallout and disease.
The point is:
Quality Whey Is Your Best Means to Keep Your Glutathione Levels Intact
Whole pasture-raised grass-fed whey protein contains the highest levels of immune peptides
which include immunoglobulins, alpha lactalbumin, beta lactoglobulin, glycomarcpeptide, serum
albumin and lactoferrin. The health boosting anti-inflammatory healing effects of wheyâs
immune peptides and glutathione have been widely documented -- proven to benefit athletes as
well as people who suffer from immune deficiencies or age-related metabolic decline.
14. www.WarriorWhey.com
Fast Nutrients Delivery
Fastest Recovery Impact on the Muscle
One unmatched property of quality whey protein over damaged protein is fast nutrient delivery.
This makes quality whey protein most effective for muscle recovery and build-up. That property is
attributed to high solubility and high protein bioavailability. Fast nutrient delivery allows fast
muscle nourishment during the post exercise âwindow of opportunity.â
After exercise, there is a short period in which the muscle is at peak capacity to assimilate protein
and nutrients towards growth, so it needs to be fed with fast assimilating protein. Quality whey
protein can perfectly accommodate this window of opportunity. It yields the fastest anabolic
impact on the muscle.
But thatâs not the case with inferior whey. Inferior insoluble and degraded whey contain insoluble
denatured proteins. It cannot adequately nourish the muscle after exercise and thus it fails to
promote recovery.
Where Do You Find Pasture-Raised Grass-Fed Cowsâ Whey?
There are a few companies that claim to sell pasture raised or grass-fed cowsâ whey, but you
need to be careful with your choice.
Beware Of Companies That Use The Term â100% Grass-Fedâ
But Provide No Proof Of Grass Feeding or How The Whey Was Sourced!
Premium pasture-raised grass-fed whey product must be supported by pasture-raised
certification and derived from sweet cheese manufacturing. The claim pasture-raised or grass-fed
does not always indicate quality. For instance, whey products labeled grass-fed that are
derived from acid casein manufacturing are by all means inferior. Ask the whey distributor if
their product is derived from cheese or casein. If the distributor refuses to address your question,
he has something to hide. Premium whey protein production involves a tight quality control
protocol which requires massive lab testing. The lab reports serve to guarantee the protein matrix
integrity, proving the viability of the amino acids and immuno components along with nutritional
cofactors such as lipids, minerals, trace elements and naturally occurring vitamins.
If you find a product that claims to be pasture raised or grass-fed but does not taste clean
and isnât certified or supported by reliable lab reports, most likely this is not quality whey.
15. www.WarriorWhey.com
What About New Zealand and Australian Whey?
New Zealand and Australian whey products are not necessarily grass-fed certified and their
quality is not always guaranteed. The reason: Grass feeding is not mandatory in these countries
where some whey products are derived from grain fed cows; and some of those claimed to be
grass-fed are nevertheless inferior as theyâre derived from casein rather than cheese.
