Updated Test Procedures (Released July
23rd)
■ “There are currently two active versions of Cypress
available for eCQM testing and certification as follows:”
– For purposes of eCQM/QRDA R3 Pre-testing Only: Cypress
v2.7.0 is available to the vendor community for the purpose of
pretesting the 2015 Eligible Hospital (EH) and Eligible
Professional (EP) measure packages.
– Use Cypress v2.6.1 Patch Release issued on 23 July 2015 to
pretest and certify 2014 Eligible Hospital (EH) and Eligible
Provider (EP) Measure Packages. This patch release supports
improvements in QRDA validation testing.
– Cypress v2.6.0 will be available for 90 days while in-progress
eCQM certifications complete.
– An Optional QRDA Validation Utility is also provided as part of
the Cypress Testing Tools. This is a separate and optional
utility for testing QRDA conformance against the CMS QRDA
Combined Implementation Guides (IGs) for both the 2015 and
2016 specifications. Upon file upload, the utility checks
additional QRDA constraints required for CMS submission that
are not tested with Cypress Certification which tests
compliance to the base QRDA IG.

Smoking Gun
■ Cypress 2.6.0 treated missing Smoking Gun Data as a
warnings.
■ Cypress 2.6.1 now treats missing Smoking Gun Data as a
errors.
■ There are expected to be false negatives
– Cypress issuing an error that smoking gun data is missing
when it is not
– These false negatives are described in
■ https://jira.oncprojectracking.org/browse/CYPRESS-168
■ http://projectcypress.org/issue168.html
– Will be handled on a case by case basis when errors are
observed

CYPRESS-587
■ “When testing CMS 142 / NQF 0089, our QRDA III file passes
but our QRDA I files fail on the B, Eye_Adult patient who
belongs in the initial patient population and not the
denominator. The error is: Cannot find expected entry with
templateId = 2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.24.3.20 with valueset
2.16.840.1.113883.3.526.3.1251.”
■ This is a result of the “Smoking Gun Data” being pushed to
before the measurement period (during the patient
randomization process).
■ This instance is a false negative. Reference this JIRA Issue
if you run into this error during certification.
