David Palling, PhD, earned his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of London in 1980. He continued his education as a postdoctoral biochemistry researcher at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Currently a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry, David Palling has held executive positions at Johnson & Johnson and Hoffmann-LaRoche, in addition to his role in the founding of Amicus Therapeutics, a firm that develops products for the treatment of human genetic diseases. Thanks to the dedication and vision of Dr. Palling and the Amicus team, the company saw immediate success and released an IPO within five years of its founding in 2002.
