2. DragonRidge Country Club is characterized by its five-star country club standard, and its
full-scale fitness facility is no exception. When it recently embarked on upgrading its fitness
space, DragonRidge challenged AFP with delivering on its five-star standard, while keeping
the project well within a cost-effective budget. Advantage Fitness Products, (AFP) responded
with effective cost saving solutions, such as upgrading the performance and look of the
facility’s existing fitness equipment, careful selection of versatile pieces of new equipment,
and implementing a preventative maintenance program to maximize the life of the new and
used equipment alike. AFP was able to meet and exceed the client’s expectations, with its
practical solutions that still maintained the club’s luxury standard maximized the value and
life of the equipment, and kept the project well within budget.
Project Summary:
DragonRidge Country Club is Southern Nevada’s newest fully-private Country Club. The
residents and golfers of this community that are Dragon Ridge members capitalize on the
panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and the Valley below as they enjoy their time golfing
and relaxing at this luxurious club. Highlighted by a championship 18-hole golf course, the
facility features a beautiful new clubhouse, formal dining steakhouse, members only bar,
family friendly grill, full-service fitness center, five championship tennis courts, and an
extensive golf Pro Shop.
Originally, the DragonRidge fitness center had been simplistic, with little emphasis on the
unique nuances of design, spatial layout and equipment. While DragonRidge was intent on a
comprehensive upgrade, some of the facility’s existing equipment was still operating
efficiently and DragonRidge executives did not want to replace it. Therefore, a challenge
resided in blending the existing equipment with the newer more state-of-the-art pieces that
AFP would supply to ensure that the entire facility maintained a premium quality look and
appeal.
Results:
Overall, this project was characterized by the need to provide cost-saving solutions, while
still delivering an upscale, five-star fitness experience for members. Before any new
equipment was purchased, AFP evaluated the facility’s existing equipment to determine
where it did or did not meet DragonRidge standards. For the equipment that was in
operating efficiently, AFP implemented its REFRESH™ program, a proprietary service that
renovates and upgrades existing equipment to avoid the need for full-blown, costly and
oftentimes, unnecessary equipment replacement. This is achieved through a variety of
practical and cost-effective measures such as new shrouds, upholstery and touch-up paint
that give the existing equipment an upgraded look. This allowed for an effectively seamless
blend of the existing and brand-new equipment.
3. After evaluating and addressing the existing equipment, AFP provided DragonRidge with a
layout plan and recommendations on the types of new equipment that would need to be
purchased. AFP provided a lineup of new strength and cardio machines from the industry
leaders at Precor. In addition to strength and cardio equipment, AFP focused on providing an
array of dumbbells and accessories, including resistance bands and stretching mats to
create an added level of versatility. For the finishing touch, AFP focused on hygiene-friendly
measures, including proper fitness flooring designed to minimize bacteria, new equipment
mats and disinfectant wipe dispensers.
Lastly, AFP developed a preventative maintenance contract to maximize the life of the
equipment and avoid costly and time-consuming repairs that are inevitable. By outsourcing
this responsibility to the qualified experts at AFP, DragonRidge eliminated the significant
time and effort associated with ongoing maintenance. This freed its staff up to focus on its
highest priorities: country club management and customer service.
