We incorporated the feel of sophistication and contemporary classics, but retained the edgy qualities, for a younger audience, but also a familiar feel that appeals to a more distinguished crowd.Since we are not directly putting our logo onto anythingthat we sell (i.e. artist retains the rights to their work) we donot have a trademarked name.

A heavy emphasis is laid on experimental medias in the painting,photographic and installation disciplines. Located in the popular Pilsen Art District inChicago, LMar Gallery sets itself apart by bringing non-centralized artists to its walls.

The mantra of LMar Gallery is a simple statement that is the heart ofwho we are. This short statement gives a clear indication, to both ourclientele and employees, of what we offer and our main focus. Bydisplaying our mantra with our mission statement, we make ourselvesmemorable in talking ﬁrsthand and guaranteeing our service. This isa way of displaying both our passionate and professional demeanors.
FontOur logo has no speciﬁc design elements to it, so we only follow bythe rules of; Guideline 1 - Standard character and stylized letteringtrademarks composed merely of standard guidelines, Type, Print,Block or Stylized lettering are not coded because they do notcontain design elements through the USPTO.gov site.
ColorLMar Gallery has kept their logo simpleand only uses one color element. Thecolor red is both pleasing to look at andsigniﬁes strength and authority to theviewer.
They left their fonts in an Times New Roman (Zolla/ Liberman) and Arial (Ann Nathan) fonts. What this tells me, is that they are already established galleries with names that are recognizable in the arts industry. The names alone outweigh the need for any ﬂashy type or color.When looking at the logos for both Zolla/Lieberman Gallery and Ann NathanGallery, we can see that there is maincharacteristic for both and that is thesimplicity of their style.
This simple and effective logo from ArmaniExchange, has used very simple type, but hasalso managed to secure itself in being anoticible brand. Even without the namebeneath the A|X it is still easily identiﬁed asbeing Armani Exchange.
Since we will be dealing directly with artists as well as the public (not to mention, contracted workers) we try our hardest to provide a welcoming, comfortable, professional and fun experience.Since, LMar Gallery is owned and operatedby Liz Mares and Crystal Angeles, it is fairlyeasy to keep a clear outline of what our mainvalues and beliefs are.
Each month, LMar Gallery will provide an article/blog toupdate our clientele of emerging artists. Intense researchwill be done, each month, to ﬁnd an artist to exhibit andmention in the monthly gallery article.
This tagline is effective in the aspects that it clearly states our mission in three simple words. Weare a contemporary art gallery that exhibits/sells contemporary art in classic disciplines (works onpaper, painting and installations). Every work of art is the soul of the artist, speaking and reachingfor emotional responses; touching the viewers humanity.Contemporary. Classic. Human.
Through these three very speciﬁc words (Contemporary.Classic.Human), we arespeaking directly towards our clients and assuring them of the goods that we offer.We are also personalizing ourselves and saying that we are not above or belowanyone, but rather of one species that has one common bond - art.
We have discovered, in our research, that our maincompetitors do not have a clearly established tagline (if one atall.) I do believe this sets us above the rest, in a manner thatwe are clearly giving our target audience a reason to see whatwe are about.
Since we are new and don’t have the prestige of our competitors, it is essentialthat we offer a clear picture of who we are without giving too much away. Sinceour words are positive and bold, this will create a buzz and a curiosity whichultimately brings about a following.
