The SYNOPSIS project concerns Storytelling and Fundraising for Cultural Heritage professionals. Cultural heritage covers a variety of activities, and a system of values, traditions, knowledge, and lifestyles that characterise society. The heritage sector has to deal with new challenges and it is therefore necessary to develop new professionalism, able to promote and support cultural heritage as it improves not only the overall economic growth and employment, but also social cohesion and environmental sustainability. Storytelling and fundraising skills assume a fundamental role in connecting the past to the future. Cultural Heritage storytelling is concerned with “communicating through stories”, creating narratives through which a cultural heritage enters into an emphatic relationship with people, managing to arouse public emotion. The purpose is to engage people to protect, exploit cultural heritage, and support it financially. This presentation presents information on the funding support offered in Europe for cultural and artistic heritage

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized an EU-wide seminar of the European Commission-funded project entitled “Active Citizenship: Enhancing Political Participation of Migrant Youth” (ACCESS), which IOM Helsinki has implemented during 2013-2015 in cooperation with partners in Czech Republic, Finland, France, Romania and Spain. The purpose of the EU-wide seminar was to disseminate the project results, in terms of how the project has contributed to the capacity building of migrant youth and partner municipalities involved. Furthermore, the seminar gave insights gained through the Peer Review’s conducted and launch the Online Self-Assessment Tool and the Discussion Paper produced by the project.

The publication “Cohesion and solidarity in rural areas - how do local actors get engaged in European policy making” is ready and available for free! The publication was prepared by local and regional public officers, policy makers, academics and NGOs from 13 countries: Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Romania, Montenegro, Serbia, Spain and Latvia, who cooperated as partners within a project called European Network for Solidarity and Cohesion in Rural Areas (ENSURE) in the years 2017-2019. In the course of two years, the ENSURE partners developed transnational actions and local actions regarding a combination of two main subjects of the project: rural development and European citizenship. It is addressed to policy makers, public officers, experts, civil society representatives, volunteers and citizens who are active (or who would like to become active) at any levels of policy making and democratic participation – from local to European. More about the project: https://www.facebook.com/ensurenetwork/
