  • 1. AIESEC The World’s Largest Student-Run Organization By the Numbers
  • 2. AIESEC is a French acronym meaning “International Association of Students in Economics and Commercial Science.”
  • 3. AIESEC was founded in Sweden in1948 by 7 members, from 7 different countries. 7 years after the start of the organization, AIESEC expanded to America and in 1956 AIESEC-Madison was founded.
  • 4. With 65 years of experience, AIESEC is found today in 124 countries and territories, at 2,400 different universities around the world.
  • 5. AIESEC has 86,000 members globally, 6,000 members nationally and 77 official members at UW-Madison.
  • 6. AIESEC-Madison is 1out of 890 student organizations found at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The organization has 1,801 likes on Facebook and 445 followers on Twitter.
  • 7. AIESEC-Madison has currently 10 students working on fulltime internships abroad and during the past year, AIESEC-Madison has sent 48 students abroad.
  • 8. AIESEC offers exchange programs to 113 different countries. AIESEC-Madison has major partnerships with 7 different countries and has a yearly budget of $55,000.
  • 9. Over the past 3 years, AIESEC-Madison has sent 150 students abroad to 45 different countries.
  • 10. AIESEC has over 1,000,000 alumni.
