19. His teacher was the painter Domènec Sovereign. He completed his studies at the
School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and then in Madrid and Rome. After his first trip
to Tangiers in 1871, accompanied by his friend and fellow student Mariano
Fortuny, began to reflect the scenes of Morocco.
