Special Needs Children <ul><li>Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Autism, Arthritis, Limb Absence, Scoliosis, Spina Bifida, Epilepsy, Brain Injury, Developmental Disabilities, Down’s Syndrome, Dwarfism, Blindness, Hearing and Speech Impediments, various Social or Emotional conditions and Learning Disabilities. </li></ul>Some of the more common disabilities suitable for therapeutic riding lessons include:

  4. 4. What is Hippotherapy? A widely accepted method of improving the physical and mental well-being of people with special needs. Pippa Hodge, Physiotherapist with a Hippotherapy Clinical Specialty, is a co-founder of VTEA and a founding and board member of the American Hippotherapy Association.

  9. 9. Our challenge <ul><li>We wish to serve all those who would like to participate </li></ul><ul><li>The services are costly </li></ul><ul><li>The Province of British Columbia does provide some financial support </li></ul><ul><li>We urgently need more donors on an ongoing basis </li></ul>
