Letter from the Board Chair
This month, our system is celebrating the dedication and passion of our volunteers. You know
as well as I that our nearly 30,000-strong network of volunteers provides an invaluable source of
strength to the children and families we serve.
However, I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to also recognize and honor the commitment of
the board members, organizational leaders and other staff of our local Chapters who work on a
daily basis to fulfill our mission of directly improving the lives of children.
I believe that the success of our Charity rests on our local Chapters’ ability to cultivate
relationships within the community, and volunteer programs are a critical component of
community relationship-building. Because of these relationships, you gain the insight necessary
to assess how our Charity can be part of the solution to the most pressing issues facing children. We are making a
difference. We are changing children’s lives. For that, we have all of you to thank.
I also want to ask that you continue to take advantage of the educational curriculum offered by RMHC. We are
committed to providing relevant, practical and needs-based educational and development opportunities. The RMHC
educational curriculum, including webinars, regional conferences and the upcoming International Conference, is
designed to help your organizations become even stronger and to be leaders within the nonprofit world. I hope you
will leverage the resources available to you.
Thank you for your commitment. I am honored to work with you in furtherance of our mission.
Sincerely,
Linda Dunham
Board Chair, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc.
