What is this Monument?????
 This monument is a mausoleum. It was built in the mid 17th
. The Taj Mahal was
built as one of the magnificent tomb for his wife .It is built of white marble and
decorated with diamonds and rubies. It has a huge pool. If someone makes a sound
under the dome it can echo for 12 seconds .The four towers are 200 hundred feet high .
One of the Taj Mahal’s most recognizable features is a large white dome that is often
called an ‘onion dome’ due to its shape. Its height of around 35 meters (115 feet) and is
surrounded by 4 smaller domes. The Taj Mahal is 171 meters (561 feet).The Taj Mahal is
considered to be one of India’s most admired works of art, as well as a famous landmark
and a tourist attraction that draws millions of visitors every year. The Taj Mahal
complex includes a large garden, a reflecting pool, a mosque and other mausoleums.
Where is this Monument Located??
 The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, a city in the Uttar
Pradesh region of northern India. It was built as the
final resting place for Mumtaz Mahal, the third wife
of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The name Taj Mahal
means “crown of palaces”.

Who Built this Monument???
1,000 elephants and 22,000 workers used in
construction ,which took over 20 years. The Taj
Mahal was made for the love of Prince Khurum of the
Mughals.
When was this Monument Built??
The Taj Mahal was built in the mid 17th
century in
Agra, a city in the Uttar Pradesh region of India.
Started in 1632 century and was finished in 1653
century.
Why was this Monument Built???
This monument was built because it was in memory of his favorite wife. It
was built as the final resting place for Mumtaz Mahal, the third wife of
Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The Taj Mahal was built because of a love story!
In 1607, Prince Khurrum of the Mughals, at the age of 14, fell in love with a 15
year girl and became engaged. The couple had to wait 5 years for their
wedding day, but then had a long and very happy marriage. Prince Khurrum
became Emperor in 1628 and was then known as Shah Jahan ("King of the
World"), and his wife was known as Mumtaz Mahal ("Beloved Ornament of
the Palace"). In 1631, Mumtaz Mahal died while giving birth to their 14th child.
The grief-stricken Emperor ordered that a beautiful memorial to his wife
should be built.

 The Taj Mahal has a large garden
surrounded by tall
red walls and rows of trees.
Each is designed with a slight outward lean,
presumably to protect the main mausoleum in case
one of them should collapse.
It is 121 meters(561 feet high) is their badges.
Famous Artists from India designed the walls of Taj
Mahal.
