1. Kindergarten Homework Room 1
Mar. 21st- Mar. 25th
Language
All students must be able to recognize all letters and sounds and retain that information.
Letter/Sound Hunt: while shopping or at home look for objects that begin or end with different
letters/sounds. Focus on the letters/sounds that your child struggles to retain.
Students must be able to read sight word list 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
After students return from spring break, there will be weekly sight word spelling tests. It’s
never to early to practice spelling sight words for practice.

Math
Your child must recognize numbers 1-50 out of order. Please work on writing these numbers as
well. This week we will continue to practice addition and subtraction. We will begin topic #9
numbers to 30
Math practice sheets will be sent home over the Spring Break. Kindergarteners need lots of
practice.
Website of the week: www.abcya.com- click on Kindergarten
Vocabulary: more, fewer, separate, compare, all together, in all, the difference, plus, minus, and
equals (is).
Reading
Reading should be daily if possible for at least 20 minutes a night.
FYI: Please practice writing sentences at home with your child. Writing about what they read
is a good way to help reading comprehension.
Green Kindergarten Folder
Please continue to complete one page a day. On the blank pages have your child practice writing
about the books they are reading at home. They may also write about their favorite things, and
places they go. We are practicing using capital and lower case letters correctly and the correct
punctuation. Please monitor your child to make sure they are practicing neat writing. PACKETS
DUE MARCH 31, 2011.
Thanks for all you do to support your child. Have a good week.
