2. Blood Specimen

1.Lipid profile.
2.Blood glucose.
3.Glucose tolerant test.
4.Prenatal glucose tolerance test.

approximately 12 hours prior to blood collection. Except water no other
liquid items should be consumed.

2. 2-hour postprandial blood sugar (post lunch).
3. Random blood sugar.
For FBS nothing should be had other than water for at least 8 hours before
the blood is taken. In case of diabetes patient the doctor will suggest and
may ask you to wait until you have had your blood collected sooner than
taking your morning dose of insulin or diabetes medicine. Likewise it
differs from other tests as well.
