EGG NOG CHEESECAKE

The favorite holiday beverage eggnog makes a luxurious cheesecake ingredient, giving
the dessert an exquisite flavor and creamy custard texture. You can make this for
Christmas or any special occasion served with tea or coffee. This also makes a nice
present for family, friends, colleagues or neighbors.

Premade eggnog is readily available in supermarkets or groceries usually in cartons like
milk. Customarily, eggnog is made with milk or cream, eggs, sugar, and liquor or a
combination of liquors typically rum, brandy, vodka, whisky, or bourbon. The
ingredients in the eggnog make it ideal for flavoring desserts like ice cream, custard,
cake, and in this case, cheesecake. You can also make homemade eggnog and use this
for making this recipe; you only need ¾ cup to make cheesecake.

This simple recipe uses graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter to make the bottom
crust of the cheesecake. The filling is made with cream cheese, sugar, all-purpose flour,
eggnog, rum, and ground nutmeg.
There are many ways you can vary this recipe. Instead of using graham crackers, you can
also use vanilla wafer crumbs. Gingersnap cookie crumbs also work well for eggnog
cheesecake. You can also flavor the cheesecake with vanilla extract, cinnamon, coffee,
or dark rum. Just like regular eggnog you can sprinkle the top with spices to give it a nice
aroma and sharper flavor.

Serve eggnog cheesecake on its own or with tea, coffee, cognac, rum or brandy. It also
pairs well with German Riesling. Top the cheesecake with whipped cream or fresh fruits
like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, or mangoes. Chopped pecans with
caramel syrup also make a wonderful garnish to eggnog cheesecake.

To make eggnog cheesecake, you need a 9-inch spring-form pan, which makes it easier
to get the cheesecake out once it is done. You also need an electric mixer or food
processor so that the ingredients for the filling can be well incorporated.
