If the word ‘networking’ elicits imagery of people connecting through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and not of parties at the old club house, then you are not alone. With more of the world migrating to digital pastures, could the art of putting one’s best foot forward in that domain be far behind? Apurva Chamaria & Gaurav Kakkar’s first book, “You Are the Key”, explores the nuances of mastering social networks to make your online persona rise up to its full potential. While a handy guide for those in the sales business, it’s packed with enough insightful firepower for anyone looking to harness the power of the digital realm to create opportunities that they never even knew existed.

SOCIAL SELLING TIPS : USING TWITTER FOR ENGAGING WITH PROSPECTS
Welcome to the social selling tips from the authors of book You Are The Key – Unlocking doors through
social selling. In this deck we will cover the usage of Twitter for approaching & engaging with Prospects.
Twitter is one of the best platforms to approach and engage with an influencer/ prospect. The reason is
that it is an open platform where anyone can follow any other person, read the views of the person, and
also easily approach a person by writing a tweet and mentioning the person in the tweet.. Some of the
best practices to approach and engage on Twitter are:
Review the Twitter stream of the prospect: Analyse the Twitter stream of the prospect to understand:
• Views/opinion of the prospect
• People with whom the prospects is engaging
• Likes/ dislikes of the prospect
• Events or conferences the prospect is going to attend
Use Hootsuite to get a 360 degree view: Twitter only shows the tweets written by the prospect. But in
case you want to analyse the posts written by someone about the prospect, then Hootsuite is the best
tool. To create your HootSuite account, please go to the website and follow the simple instructions listed
there. When you’ve finished, you will land up at your dashboard, ready to connect your social profiles
and customise your streams. Here is how you use it:
