THE SYSTEM OF ANTICHRIST: PART 2
THE MESSAGE OF REVELATION 12
According to Genesis chapters’ 1 and 2, God created a perfect world in 6 days;
and Adam and Eve were created as sinless beings made in the image of God. Psalm 8:1 –
9 show that man was “created just a little lower than the angels and was crowned with
glory and honor.” Concerning the whole creation—including Adam and Eve—the Bible
says: “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good”
(Genesis 1:31). However, previous to this wonderful creation, Lucifer had been thrown
out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12 – 14) for bringing evil into the universe; and Lucifer (the
devil) was determined that he would bring evil to earth. From the very beginning the
devil chose the SERPENT as a symbol of his power. Genesis 3 shows how the devil
used the serpent to cause Adam and Eve to disobey God’s command “not to eat of the
tree of knowledge.” Genesis 3:15 shows that, as a result of mans fall into sin, the
messiah would have to come and conquer the serpent. The “bruising of the woman’s
heel” points to Jesus’ death on the cross, while the “bruising of the serpents head”
points to the devil’s defeat by Jesus (Hebrews 2:14,15). Moreover, this prophecy also
tells us that there are—from Adam’s day to the end of the world—to be two different
classes of people: the Seed of the Woman (those who believe in the true God) and the
Seed of the Serpent (those who follow the devil). In this chapter we are going to see that
the very symbol of the serpent is one of the most important marks for identifying
“Satan’s Great False Religious System.”
The imagery of Revelation 12 is a depiction that implies the whole controversy
between good and evil—expressed in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Revelation
12 uses the symbolism of the Dragon or the Serpent as a representation of the power of
Satan, whereas the symbolism of the woman represents God’s people. In Revelation 12
John was shown the great battle that had taken place in heaven between Satan and Christ
many millenniums in the past (2 Peter 2:4; Luke 10:18). It was revealed to John how the
controversy between Christ and Satan was brought to earth and how this war had been

waged on God’s people since the days of Adam. In Genesis 3:15, the Lord told the
serpent: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and
her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The seed of the woman
that was to bruise the serpent’s head was Christ. Galatians 3:16 says, “Now to Abraham
and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of
one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” In chapter four, we analyzed that the seed of the
woman is not only Christ Himself, but represent God’s people from the days of Adam to
the close of time. Revelation 12 reveals that the battle, which has been waged on God’s
people, has been waged on the following: those who existed before the flood; ancient
Israel; the seed of promise—Jesus—who came through Israel; and the Church for the
1,260 years of Papal persecutions.
The Woman Represented Ancient Israel
The woman represented ancient Israel (see Isaiah 54:5; Jer. 3:14; 6:2; 31:32 Hos.
2:19). The 12 stars represented the 12 Patriarchs of Israel. Israel was clothed with the
Sun. Here, the Sun represents the righteousness and glory of Christ. Pertaining to Christ’s
second coming, Malachi 4:2 says, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of
Righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as
calves of the stall.” Psalm 84:11 states, “For the Lord God is a SUN and shield.”
“Overcomers” in the Church of Thyatira are promised the morning star (Rev. 2:28).
Note: The SUN is a symbol of LIGHT. God’s glory is described as light (see John 1:4 –
9; Psalm 36:9; 43:3; 90:8; 104:1, 2; 139:11).
As God is covered with light like a garment, He wanted to cover Israel with His
light. Light is also indicative of righteousness. John 3:21 says, “But he that doeth truth
cometh to the light, that his deeds may be manifest, that they are wrought in God (see
also John 3:19, 20; Psalm 119:105, 130; Proverbs 6:23). Israel was to be clothed with the
righteousness and glory of Christ, and Israel stood on the moon. The moon reflects the
light of the sun. Thus we can say that this symbol represents the Old Testament sacrificial
system being a reflection of the One in whom these sacrifices pointed to. This is why
Hebrews 10:1 says:
For the law having a shadow (Gr. Skia: “Shade caused by the interception of
light”; “An image cast by an object and representing the form of that
object”) of good things to come, and not the very image of these things, can
never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the
comers thereunto perfect.
Israel stood on the foundation of the Old Covenant system, which was a form of the
greater light that was revealed at the advent of Christ. It was through the seed of Adam,
Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David that the Messiah came (Rev. 12:1, 2). The great
Serpent and Dragon, Satan, according to Revelation 12:4, 5, attempted to kill the Messiah
when He was born, but Christ gained the victory over the Dragon. Christ not only
Himself gained victory over the great adversary, but He also achieved victory for all men
who accept their salvation in Him; thus, Christ was able to ascend into heaven as the
great champion of human salvation (Rev. 12:5; see also Heb. 2:15). The victory of Christ
permitted Him to be the one worthy to open the scroll in Rev 5:5: “Behold the Lion of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven

seals thereof.”
The Woman Represents The Church
After the kingdom was taken from national Israel (Matt. 21:43), the woman of
Revelation 12 became the Church (see Eph. 5:23 – 33; 2 Cor. 11:2; James 4: 4; Rom. 7:1
– 4). The 12 stars represent the 12 apostles who promulgated the Church of Jesus Christ
(Matt. 16:18; 18:17). The Church, like ancient Israel, is to be clothed with the sun, the
righteousness and glory of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 says, “For God, who commanded the
light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (also see 1 John 1: 5 – 7). The Church
also stands on the foundation of the moon; meaning, the Church has for its foundation the
message of the Old Testament and the Messiah of Old Testament promises. This is why
Paul said in Ephesians 2:19, 20:
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with
the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
The Woman Flees For 1260 Prophetic Days
As a result of Christ establishing the Church, the Dragon, Satan, was angry with Christ
and His victory; and therefore, persecuted His offspring in the Church. Satan
accomplished this through both Pagan and Papal Rome. Daniel 8:23 explains the policy
of both Pagan and Papal Rome:
And in the latter time of their kingdom (Greece), when the transgressors
are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark
sentences, shall stand up.
Note: The greatest persecution against God’s people was during the 1,260 years of the
Papal supremacy (see chapter five).
Revelation 12 is a miniature illustration of the Satanic Warfare against God’s
Covenant people from Genesis to Revelation. This warfare began with Adam, continued
through the Old Testament, and will continue against the remnant seed of Christ (Rev.
12:17). Before proceeding to the next section, we must emphasize the importance of this

section in conjunction with chapter’s three and four. Why does the symbolism of the
woman in Revelation 12 highlight both ancient Israel and the Church? Christ was married
to Israel (Isaiah 54:5; Jer. 3:14; 6:2; 31:32 Hos. 2:19). Christ is married to the Church
(Eph. 5:23 – 33; 2 Cor. 11:2; James 4: 4; Rom. 7:1 – 4). Christ, ultimately, has one wife,
not two—not three. The reason that the woman of Revelation 12 can be predicated to
both ancient Israel and the Church is because the saints of all ages are one people under
the Everlasting Covenant. This illustration is further proof that the Israel of God is not
ethnic based, as dispensationalists teach.
The Dragon Represents Different Things
Revelation 12:9 calls the Dragon the Devil, which is
true; however, to come to the conclusion that the
Devil exists in an actual fleshly body of this nature
is not likely, though, as we will see, the devil did
use an appearance of this kind to represent himself
in ancient Babylon. The Dragon is symbolical and
represents the following:
(1) The Dragon primarily represents the system of Paganism. Since a large portion of
this chapter is dedicated to the origins of the seven headed Dragon and what he was made
to represent in the system of Astrology and Sun worship, we are going to bypass this
explanation for now.
(2) The seven heads of the Dragon have seven Crowns (Gr. Diadema: “Kingly
Crown”) on them. These heads represent, not seven individual kings, but seven
kingdoms, which of course have a seat of authority where kings have ruled (Rev. 17:10).
The Dragon with seven heads in this perspective is a representation of Satan working
through 7 successive kingdoms against God’s people, the sun-clothed woman.
Satan’s first attempt to establish a one-world kingdom took place at the tower of
Babel (Genesis 10, 11). In following sections we are going to analyze how Satan’s main
purpose for Babel was to develop a “blue print kingdom” for his exaltation, for Babel is
Babylon in its infancy. Satan created this blueprint, because he knew that eventually
God was going to establish an earthly representation of the heavenly kingdom—Israel.
At the tower of Babel, Satan began the process of developing his kingdom to thwart the
soon coming “Israel of God.”
The first actual kingdom, which followed the tower of Babel, was the kingdom of
Egypt. During the time frame of Egyptian power, God had begun the process of
establishing Israel through the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Back in chapter 3,
we analyzed the issue of the “Two Gatherings of Israel.” In that study we Identified
Egypt as Israel’s first great persecutor (see Exodus 1 – 15), for Isaiah 11:16 indicates that
Israel’s first gathering was from Egypt. Then we learned that it was the Assyrians who
dispersed the northern 10 tribes. The northern kingdom existed from the time of
Jeroboam (931 – 910 B.C.) up to Hoshea (732 – 722 B.C.). After this dispersion, Neo-

Babylon came into power and conquered Jerusalem. The southern kingdom existed from
the time of Rehoboam (931 – 913 B.C.) up to the reign of Zedekiah (597 – 586 B.C.).
The Persian Empire was the next kingdom in line. Under this kingdom, the second
gathering of Israel took place for the restoration of the temple and the city of Jerusalem
(see Ezra and Nehemiah). As was noted in chapter 2, the Jews experienced much trouble
accomplishing the restoration of their temple and city under Persian rule. Greece was no
better than the preceding kingdoms, for Greece brought the influence of Hellenism to the
Jews. B. J. Fernie reveals:
The fall of Persia before the all-conquering legends of Alexander made little
difference in the political situation. The Jew cheerfully accepted the new ruler,
indifferent whether Greek or Persian claimed suzerainty as long as he was left in
peace to live his own life. There was, however, a social and philosophical result
of Greek domination, which had a momentous effect. Alexander’s policy was to
plant Greek cities in conquered lands, and till them with Greek colonists. Many
were established in Palestine, and their influence soon made itself felt in the
Jewish community. The Jew was susceptible to Greek thought and culture,
which the strict adherents of the law perceived to be antagonistic to Hebrew
civilization. Gradually the conflict between Hellenism, the Greek philosophy, and
Hebraism, the Jewish cult, began, and continued through a long period (B. J.

The Greeks, for a long period of time, sought to convert the Jews to Paganism; and
eventually, the Jews were persecuted:
The great crisis in the history of the Jewish people in Palestine came in 175 B.
C., when Antiochus Epiphanes became king of Syria. He determined, not only
on the complete subjugation of Palestine, but on rooting out Jewish faith and
practice, and making the Greek culture paramount throughout his empire. He
captured Jerusalem and proceeded to desecrate the sacred places. An alter to the
Greek deity, Zeus, was set up in the temple, swine were offered in sacrifice and
their blood was sprinkled on the Holy Place (B. J. Fernie, Ph.D., From Malachi
To Matthew: Cited from H. M. S. Richards Study Bible (Iowa Falls, Iowa: World
Bible Publishers), 7).
The Paganism of Greece was another connotation of the religion from ancient Babylon.
The Jews were constantly battling the ideas of the governments they lived under. The
Devil always persecutes, not just by military force, but also through information and
manipulation with information. Rome too was an oppressor of the Jewish nation.
(Roman Rule) The iron strength of Rome indicates a rulership of great power and hard
to contend with. The Jews hated Rome! Their hope was in a Messiah that would free the
Jewish state from Roman Imperialism. When Jesus did not fulfill the Jewish expectation
on this point, He was rejected.
Up to this point, it is logical to conclude that 6 heads of the Dragon pertain to: (1)
Egypt; (2) Assyria; (3) Babylon; (4) Persia; (5) Greece; and (6) Rome. Babel was Satan’s
prototypical kingdom in preparation for the destruction of God’s Israel; and then, during
the span of the following six kingdoms, the Serpent and Dragon, Satan, worked through
these powers to destroy Israel. After the death and ascension of Christ, the Dragon

continued to work through Pagan Rome to destroy the Church (The Roman Persecution
of Christians). Satan’s masterpiece of destruction against the Church came through the
7th
head (Kingdom), which was Papal Rome, and this persecution lasted for 1,260 years.
Therefore, in this first application of interpreting the symbolism of the Dragon, it is
conclusive that the Dragon represents the Devil persecuting God’s people through the
seven successive kingdoms just named.
(3) Rev. 17:9: Many of the Protestant Reformers applied these seven mountains to
the actual Seven Hills of Rome. (For a description of the terrain of the seven hills, see
following web site: The Seven Hills of Rome) Interestingly, The New American Bible
For Catholics in the foot notes of Revelation 17:9 says: “Here is a clue: literally, ‘Here a
mind that has wisdom.’ Seven hills: of Rome.” Different Bible interpreters have come to
the conclusion that the 7 mountains are the same as the seven kingdoms. It is more likely
that this symbolism represents both the seven kingdoms and the seven hills. As we are
seeing, these symbols don’t represent one specific thing; they have dual or triple
applications. It is likely that the seven heads represent the following:
(a) Seven successive kingdoms in which the Dragon, Satan, has used to persecute God’s
people. This means that the Dragon is Satan manifesting himself through each head
(kingdom) against God’s people from Egypt to Papal Rome.
(b) The Seven Hills of Rome which give the Dragon a primary depiction of Pagan Rome;
and therefore, it becomes evidential that the following sea beast in Revelation 13 is the
continuation of Rome under Popery, for Papal Rome is on the very spot where the
Caesars ruled—the seven hills.
(4) The Dragon has 10 horns:
This symbol describes the Devil working through
both Pagan Rome and Papal Rome. The Dragon who
attempted to kill Christ at His birth describes the
Devil working through Pagan Rome (See Matt. 2).
Herod the Great, as a position of power, was simply a
Roman Jurisdiction. It was Roman soldiers who
crucified Christ (Luke 23; Mark 15; Matt. 27). It was
Rome that attempted to seal the tomb of Christ so that
it could not be opened (Matt. 27:62 – 66), but as
Revelation 12:5 says, “the child was caught up unto God and to his throne.” Satan failed
to achieve his objective through Roman power. In this description, the Dragon was the
6th
head (kingdom), which is Rome. As we discovered in chapter 5, Rome eventually
divided into 10 divisions; thus, the 10 horns on the Dragon are homogeneous with the 10
horns on Daniel’s fourth Beast. The Dragon became the 7th
head (kingdom), Papal Rome,
after the fall of Rome in 476; for it was after this time that the Heruli, Vandals, and
Ostrogoths were destroyed. Then, following the removal of the Ostrogoths, came the
1,260 years of persecution under Papal supremacy.
We can conclude that the Dragon is pictured as all the kingdoms (depicted by the
seven heads) that persecuted God’s people. Though the Dragon represents the seven
successive kingdoms, John seems to put more emphasis on it as Pagan Rome as the
prophecy pertains to the main child, then John eludes to the Dragon being Christian

Rome as the centuries elapse into the 1,260 years. Ultimately, the depiction of the Dragon
in Revelation 12 points to Satan’s work through each of the seven world powers—
reaching its climax in Pagan and Papal Rome (see Chapter 4 on the little horn of Daniel
8).
Revelation 13. The Beast Is The Dragon Transformed Into Papal Rome.
Revelation 13:1, 2 give us a depiction of a Beast that looks like the Dragon—in
structure—but also carries with it character traits from the beasts that preceded Pagan
Rome. The Beast of Revelation 13 possesses the seven heads and ten horns like the
Dragon, but also carries with it the appearance of the Leopard (Greece), the feet of the
Bear (Persia), and the mouth of a Lion (Babylon). This Beast carries the symbolism of the
preceding beasts, because he is the culmination and acme of the pagan idolatries that
were inherent in the preceding beasts. Very factually J. A. Wylie says:
All idolatries, in whatever age or country they have existed, are to be viewed but
as successive developments of the one grand apostasy. That apostasy was
commenced in Eden, and consummated at Rome. It had its rise in the plucking
of the forbidden fruit; and it attained its acme in the supremacy of the Bishop of
Rome—Christ’s Vicar on earth (The Papacy: History, Dogmas, Genius, And
Prospects: Being The Evangelical Alliance First Prize Essay On Popery, Book 1,
13).
The Sea Beast is the 7th
head out of the seven. Because the number 7 is indicative of
completion, it is likely that this Beast is the complete manifestation of the Dragon power.
This Beast is the aim of Satan’s handiwork. This Beast is said to have ruled for 42 months
(Rev. 13:5). 42 months x 30 days = 1,260 prophetic days. This Beast is the same power
as the little horn, for the Papacy ruled for 1,260 years. We learn in Revelation 13:2 that
the “Dragon gave the Beast his power, and his seat, and great authority.” When we look
at the Dragon in the perspective of his relationship with the following sea Beast, we find
that the Dragon is fixated as pagan Rome. So, according to this prophecy, Pagan Rome
gave its seat to the Beast who is obviously Papal Rome. Very factually, Henry Halley
says, “The Popes of Rome were the heirs and successors of the Caesars of Rome. The
Vatican is where the Palace of the Caesars was. The Popes have claimed all the authority
the Caesars claimed, and more” (Halley’s Bible Handbook, 732). Wylie says, “It was in

the soil of the Seven Hills, amid the trophies of unnumbered victories, the symbols of
universal empire, and the gorgeous rites of a polluting polytheism, that Romanism, velut
arbor aevo, grew up” (The Papacy: History, Dogmas, Genius, And Prospects, Book 1,
11). When we view the seven heads as being the Seven Hills of Rome, we see that Pagan
Rome who sat on seven hills was eventually succeeded by Papal Rome. Both the Dragon
and the Beast sit on the seven hills. If we interpret the seven heads as kingdoms, we find
that Papal Rome is the Beast, because the 7th
head follows the 6th
. One of the fathers of
English Presbyterianism, Thomas Brightman (1562 – 1607), commented on the two-fold
meaning of the seven heads. His view laid a foundation for further elaboration in the
coming years of interpretational development:
Rome is the City where the heads of Antichrist remained fixed, therefore Rome is
the seat of Antichrist. You can never escape the dint of this argument (O ye
Papists!) while you live. It must needs be as fixed, strong, and durable, as the
Mountains themselves of your Rome. . . .The seat of the seven Kings is the seat
of Antichrist, Rome the City with seven Hills, is the seat of the seven Kings: For
the heads are both the Mountains, and the Kings; Therefore Rome is the seat of
Antichrist (Cited in Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers. Vol. 2, 516)
The martyred bishop of Gloucester or Worcester, John Hooper (1495 –1555), emphasized
the Seven Hills of Rome as being the prophetic seat of Babylon:
Of that wicked and pestilent see and chair of Rome, which is indeed the very
whore of Babylon that St. John describeth in the Revelation of Jesus Christ,
sitting upon a seven-headed beast, which St. John himself interpreteth to be seven
hills, and the children in the grammar-school do know that Rome is called civitas
septem montium, the city of seven hills (Cited in Prophetic Faith Of Our
Fathers. Vol. 2, 383).
(The following web site describes the Catholic Church as Mystery Babylon on the seven
hills: A Woman Rides the Beast - A City on Seven Hills) Thomas Brightman indicates
that the seven hills represent the seat of the Beast; whereas, John Hooper indicates that
the seven hills represent the seat of Babylon. This is a very good observation between
these two Reformers, for Babylon and the Beast are the same. It is no accident that John
described the Beast of Revelation 13 as having the appearance of Babylon, Persia,
Greece, and Rome, for the Papacy has borrowed an occult religious system, which has its
origin in these powers. When John said that this Beast had the mouth of a Lion, he was
telling us that the Papacy would have the mouth of Babylon. Babylon is the source of the
Pagan idolatries in these kingdoms, and John has told us that the Beast is the culmination
of these religions into one vast religious-political entity.

After the flood, the world was repopulated
through Noah’s sons: Shem, Ham, and
Japheth (Gen. 10:1 – 32). Genesis 9:20 – 29
shows that, when Noah was drunken with
wine, he was laying naked in his tent; and
Ham exploited Noah’s nakedness. When
Noah awoke from his wine, he heard what
Ham had done, and Noah had foretold that
the outcome of Ham’s offspring (Canaan)
would be that of being “servant of servants”
to the offspring of Shem and Japheth. We
learn in Genesis 10:6 – 8 that through Ham
came Cush who begot Nimrod. Genesis 10:8,
9 explain that Nimrod became mighty on the
earth. He was a “mighty hunter before (Heb.
Panim or Paneh: “Against”) the Lord.
Genesis 10:10 and 11:1 – 9 show that Nimrod
was the builder of Babylon, and he was the
first tower builder; and it was Nimrod who
sought to unite the world together in
opposition against God. What was Nimrod’s
purpose in building this tower and gathering the world into a one-world society? Flavius
Josephus explains:
Now it was Nimrod who excited them (the people) to such an affront and
contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man,
and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it
was through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own
courage which produced that happiness. He also gradually changed the
government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from fear of God,
but to bring them into a constant dependence on his own power. He also said he
would be revenged on God, if he would have a mind to drown the world again,
for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! And
that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers! Now the
multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to esteem
it a piece of cowardice to summit to God; and they built a tower, neither sparing
any pains, nor being any degree negligent about the work. And by reason of the
multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than any one could
expect; but the thickness of it was so great, and it was so strongly built, that
thereby its great height seemed, upon the view, to be less than it really was
(Complete Works, 30).
Nimrod was a mighty hunter against the Lord. In Mesopotamia in the land of Shinar,
there were wild beasts that threatened the lives of people. Alexander Hislop explains that,
preceding Nimrod’s reign of power, “the wild beasts of the forest multiplying more
rapidly than the human race, must have committed great depredations on the scattered
and straggling populations of the earth, and must have inspired great terror into the minds
of men” (The Two Babylons: or The Papal Worship, 50, 51). Hislop goes on to say, “The
exploits of Nimrod, therefore, in hunting down the wild beasts of the field, and ridding

the worlds of monsters, must have gained for him the character of a pre-eminent
benefactor of his race” (The Two Babylons: or The Papal Worship, 51).
Nimrod was called the father of the “so called” gods; he was the first of the
deified mortals. The first crown to be put on a ruler was the bullhorn crown. By killing
the bull and making the bullhorns his crown, Nimrod received the name Kronos. Hislop
tells us:
The meaning of this name Kronos, ‘The Horned one,’ as applied to Nimrod, fully
explains the origin of the remarkable symbol, so frequently occurring among the
Nineveh sculptures, the gigantic HORNED man-bull, as representing the great
divinities of Assyria (The Two Babylons: or The Papal Worship, 33).
Nimrod also wore the skin of a lion for his cloak. Nimrod’s tradition of the killing of
lions and other beasts was passed to the Assyrians. W. F. Saggs points out, “It was the
sacred duty of the king to shoot lions and to slay other beasts” (The Greatness That Was
Babylon, 189). This writer asserts that the Assyrians had a tradition that once a year there
was a royal lion hunt. On page 446 of this book, the writer illustrates a depiction of

Nimrod became the benefactor for those living in Mesopotamia, and inevitably,
he was deified as a god. Nimrod also became a god by means of the following: When
Nimrod died, his wife, Semiramis, taught the Mesopotamian people that Nimrod had
ascended into the sun—becoming one with the sun god. Eventually, Semiramis gave
birth to a child, and she taught the people that the child was the reincarnation of Nimrod.
Because it was believed that Nimrod ascended into the sun, the son of Semiramis was
believed to be the sun god—incarnate. This myth laid the ideological foundation for
making the kings of Egypt, Assyro-Babylonia (i.e. the new Babel), Persia, Greece, and
Rome into incarnations of the sun god. As we are going to see in further pages, the
tradition of Semiramis giving birth to the sun became the most fundamental pillar in
Paganism. The concept of the Mother and the Child has had different names applied, but
the tradition has remained in tact.
THE ORIGIN OF DRAGON SYMBOLISM

Why did God use the “Great Red Dragon” with “Seven Heads” in Revelation
12 to depict the seven successive kingdoms of Paganism? God used the symbolism of the
seven-headed Dragon, because Paganism actually has it beginnings in Dragon or Serpent
worship. Alexander Hislop explains that Nimrod also went by the name of Ninus, the son
of Bel or Belus (Cush). Through an understanding of these names, Hislop traced the
Babylonian conspiracy to Ham, which, according to the Egyptian system of Paganism
was Hermes—the origin of the Hermetic Mysteries. Hislop asserts, “Hermes was the
great original prophet of idolatry; for he was recognized by the pagans as the author of

their religious rites, and the interpreter of the god’s” (The Two Babylons, 25, 26). If this is
the case, then we find that Ham educated Bel (Cush). Bel being indoctrinated by Satan’s
system, founded the city of Babylon, and Ninus (Nimrod) built the city. If Ham, the
father of Cush and the grandfather of Nimrod, is truly Hermes, we find that the great
satanic conspiracy—promulgated through the pagan kingdoms—began with him. How is
this the case? Hislop reveals:
If the Egyptians and Greeks derived their arithmetic and astronomy from
Chaldea, seeing these in Chaldea were sacred sciences, and monopolized by the
priests, that is sufficient evidence that they must have derived their religion from
the same quarter (The Two Babylons, 12).
Hislop then says:
The zodiacal signs . . . show unequivocally that the Greeks derived their notions
and arrangements of the zodiac [and consequently their Mythology, that was
intertwined with it] from the Chaldees (The Two Babylons, 13).
In other words the Zodiac—with all related ideas—that were found in Egypt and Greece
are traced back to the Chaldees, and the “Chaldees” is just another name for the
Babylonians. Now, what does this have to do with Ham? The sciences that Hislop equates
to the Chaldean system, the pagan scholar, and 33rd
degree Freemason, Manly P. Hall,
attributes to Hermes as the architecture of these sciences. Hall tells us:
Among the arts and sciences which it is affirmed Hermes revealed to mankind
were medicine, chemistry, law, art, astrology, music rhetoric, magic, philosophy,
geography, mathematics (especially geometry), anatomy, and oratory (The Secret
Teachings of All Ages, XXXVII).

In other words, the sciences that came from the Chaldeans have been attributed to
Hermes. Thus we can say that the problem that Noah had seen in Ham was far reaching
in its application. The dispensationalist, Tim Lahaye, quoting Ironside, tells us that Ham
was the one who brought into being the idolatry, which Nimrod so largely established:
Nimrod, or Nimrod-bar-Cush . . . was a grandson of Ham, the unworthy son of
Noah . . . Noah had brought through the flood, the revelation of the true God . . .
Ham on the other hand seems to have been all too readily affected by the
apostasy that brought the flood, for he shows no evidence of self-judgment . . .
His name . . .means “swarthy,” “darkened,” or, more literally, “the sunburnt.”
And the name indicates the state of the man’s soul . . .darkened by light from

The Dragon As Light
The preceding statement from Ironside shows that Ham was darkened by light
from heaven. We can say that Ironside was absolutely correct in stating this, and we will
further elaborate on this point by raising the question: What was the light from heaven
that darkened Ham? It has been said that Hermes had a vision of something splendid,
something that revealed to him all the knowledge that he is accredited to giving the
world. Hall demonstrates that Hermes saw: “the Great Dragon, with wings stretching
across the sky and light streaming in all directions from its body.” Hall continues:
(The Mysteries taught that the Universal Life was personified as a dragon.) The
Great Dragon called Hermes by name, and asked him why he thus meditated
upon the World Mystery. Terrified by the spectacle, Hermes prostrated himself
before the Dragon, beseeching it to reveal its identity. The great creature
answered that it was Poimandres, the Mind of the Universe, the Creative
Intelligence, and the Absolute Emperor of all (Secret Teachings of All Ages,

It is said that Poimandres revealed himself to Hermes as a pulsating radiance. “This
light was the spiritual nature of the Great Dragon itself” (Hall, Secret Teachings of All
Ages, XXXVIII). There are two things that we should immediately notice about this vision:
(1) Revelation 12 identifies Satan as a Great Red Dragon. (2) That the radiance of this
dragon corresponds to the meaning of the name Lucifer. Isaiah 14:12 – 14 says:
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer (Heb. Heylel: “light bearer” or
Helel: “a shining one”), son of the morning (Heb. Shachar: “dawn”)! How art
thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said
in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of
God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds: I will be like the most High.
Note: Understanding these two points leads us to the conclusion that the Dragon, which
Hermes saw, was Satan. So, when Ironside says that Ham was darkened by light from
heaven, this points to the Great Radiant Dragon of the Hermetic vision. Thus, the fallen

angel, Lucifer, darkened Ham, and the tower of Babel was an attempt to unite the world
to worship Lucifer.
Notice that the Dragon told Hermes that he was the “Mind of the Universe, the
Creative Intelligence.” This correlates well with Isaiah 14:12 – 14 where Satan said, “I
will be like the most High.” Satan revealed himself to Hermes as the light and Eternal
Mind of the universe. Back in the land of the Chaldeans, we find that Satan was
attempting to replace God as the true light. Notice the following scriptures that depict
God as light:

9. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
NKJ Psalm 43:
3. Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me
to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle.

8.You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your
countenance.

11. If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light
about me;
12. Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great: You are
clothed with honor and majesty,
2. Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens
like a curtain.

12. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who
follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
The Dragon As The Sun
This vision of Hermes unfolds the false religion of the false light bearer, Lucifer,
who immediately began working to destroy the Covenant that God introduced to Noah.
We learn that Satan who appeared as the Dragon also used the Sun to represent himself.
The following statement from Hall implies this:
Hermes was accepted into the mythology of the Greeks, later becoming the
Mercury of the Latins. He was revered through the form of the planet
Mercury because this body is nearest to the sun: Hermes of all creatures was
nearest to God, and became known as the Messenger of the Gods (Secret
Teachings of All Ages, XXXVII. Emphasis mine).
In other words, the Dragon that radiated with light in the presence of Ham, which
claimed to be the mind of the universe, is represented to the pagans of all ages as the
visible sun. Hislop tells us:

Along with the sun, as the great fire-god, and, in due time, identified with him,
was the serpent worshipped. In the mythology of the primitive world, says Owen,
“The serpent is universally the symbol of the sun” (The Two Babylons, 227).
This is an example of Satan emulating God, for scripture uses the sun as a symbolic
representation of God.
NKJ Malachi 4:
2. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With
healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

11. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory;

It has always been the studied aim of Satan to be like the Most High, and Satan used the
solar orb—the sun—to gain worship. The New Larousse Encyclopedia Of Mythology
demonstrates how ancient Babylon applied the attributes of Jehovah to the sun:
During the night Shamash pursues his subterranean course so that before dawn he
shall have regained the Mountain of the East. Vigor and courage were the
distinctive qualities of this god who triumphed over the night and put the winter
to flight. But above all he was the god of justice. His bursting light which
chased away the shadows where crime throve made him the terror of the evil-
doer: he ‘breaks the horn of him who meditates evil.’ How could one escape
him? Not only did he see everything, but his rays were a vast net which caught
all who committed iniquities. Thus he bore the title of ‘Judge of the Heavens
and the Earth,’ ‘Sublime Judge of the Anunnaki,’ ‘Lord of Judgment.’ His
temple in Babylon was called the ‘House of the Judge of the World.’ In his role
of judge the god was represented seated on a throne, holding in his right hand

The Dragon And The Sun As A Trinity
The vision of Hermes unfolds that the Dragon is a trinity. Hall says, “The
Supreme Being—the Mind—male and female, brought forth the Word, suspended
between Light and darkness, was delivered of another Mind called the Workman, the

Master-Builder, or the Maker of Things” (The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, XXXIX). In
other words, the Dragon is said to have been the Mind that brought forth the “Word”
who is the “Son of God.” The Son of God is said to be “reason” which is the offspring
of “thought.” So “Mind” (thought) brought forth the “Word” (reason). We learn that
the Mind is both male and female who brought forth the Word and then another Mind
called the “Master-Builder” or “Maker of Things” was brought forth. This third part of
the Dragon trinity is also called the “Son of Striving,” and he is represented as fire (See
The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, XXXIX). Hislop rightly says:
The ‘Serpent of Fire’ in the plains of Shinar seems to have been the grand object
of worship. There is the strongest evidence that the apostasy among the sons of
Noah began in fire-worship, and that in connection with the symbol of the
serpent (The Two Babylons, 226).
Note: The preceding example of the Dragon trinity being Mind, Word, and Fire—in
comparison with John 1 is a good example of how the Devil attempts to emulate God:
NKJ John 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that
was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him
might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
Because the sun was believed to be a physical representation of the Dragon, the sun also
was believed to be a trinity. This can be visualized in the pagan concept of “The Three
Suns.” The mystical pagans believed that, in each solar system, there were three suns: the
spiritual sun, the intellectual sun, and the material sun; and the pagans believed that these
three suns corresponded with the three parts of man: spirit, soul, and body. Hall tells us:
Man’s nature was divided by the mystics into three distinct parts: spirit, soul, and
body. His physical body was unfolded and vitalized by the material sun; his
spiritual nature was illuminated by the spiritual sun; and his intellectual nature
was redeemed by the true light of grace—the soular sun (Secret Teachings Of All
Ages, LI).

The Hermetic vision of the radiant Dragon, being made up of MIND, WORD, and
FIRE correlates well with the THREE SUNS. As the terms—given to the Hermetic
Dragon—have been applied to Jehovah, Hall shows how the three suns have also been
applied to Jehovah where he says, “The spiritual sun manifests the power of God the
Father; the solar soular sun radiates the life of God the Son; and the material sun is the
vehicle of manifestation for God the Holy Spirit” (Secret Teachings Of All Ages, LI).
In Paganism the three suns represent the Trinity of ESSENCE of the Great
Dragon. Not only has the trinity of essence been applied to the sun, but also the Trinity
of FUNCTION has been applied to the sun, such as the trinity of the sun being
manifested in the three phases of day: rising, midday, and setting; and the cycle of life
consisting of: birth, growth, and decay. Hall demonstrates how the function of the sun
trinity has been applied to Jehovah:
God the Father, the Creator of the world, is symbolized by the dawn. His color is
blue, because the sun rising in the morning is veiled in blue mist. God the Son,
the illuminating One sent to bear witness of His Father before all worlds, is the
celestial globe at noonday, radiant and magnificent, the maned Lion of Judah, the
Golden-haired Savior of the World. Yellow is His color and His power is without
end. God the Holy Ghost is the sunset phase, when the orb of day, robed in
flaming red, rests for a moment upon the horizon line and then vanishes into the
darkness of the night to wander in the lower worlds and later rise again
triumphant from the embrace of darkness (Secret Teachings Of All Ages, XLIX).
Is the Hermetic Dragon or the Sun the same god as Jehovah? No! It has always been the
aim of the devil to “BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH.”
The Dragon With Seven Governors—The Seven Planets
(Tower of Babel and Ziggurats - Crystalinks)
God has seven angels (Rev. 1:20; 8:2; 15:6) who work His purpose. On this point
Satan emulated God in the land of Shinar. In Paganism it is believed that the third part of
the Dragon trinity (Workman; Son of Striving; Fire) brought forth seven other governors
of the world: “The Son of Striving thus formed Seven Governors, the Spirits of the
Planets, whose orbits bounded the world; and the Seven Governors controlled the world
by the mysterious power called Destiny given them by the Fiery Workman” (Secret
Teachings Of All Ages, XXXIX). In this demonstration, we have in sight what became the
seven astrological gods in pagan idolatry: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus,
and Saturn. This is undoubtedly the conceptual source of the seven-headed dragon.
When Nimrod built the tower of Babel, he built that tower in dedication to the great
Dragon, which his grandfather, Ham, had seen. It is possible that Nimrod built that tower
with seven layers to represent the seven planetary gods, which was believed to be the
seven-fold nature of the Dragon. This is seen in other building structures that were latter
made after the destruction of the tower of Babel. The Babylonians built Ziggurats in
accordance with the grand design of the tower of Babel. Concerning the great Ziggurat—
congruous with the tower of Babel—in ancient Babylon, Will Durant says:

The great Ziggurat at Borsippa was called “The Stages of the Seven Spheres”;
each story was dedicated to one of the seven planets known to Babylonia, and
bore a symbolic color. The lowest was black, as the color of Saturn; the next
above it was white, as the color of Venus; the next was purple, for Jupiter; the
fourth blue, for Mercury; the fifth scarlet, for Mars; the sixth silver, for the moon;
the seventh gold, for the sun. These spheres and stars, beginning at the top,
designated the days of the week (Will Durant. Our Oriental Heritage, 255)
The seven layers of the Ziggurat were built in dedication to the great Dragon. We
agree with Hall where he asserts, “The Tower of Babel, which according to the
Scriptures, was built so that man might reach up to God, was probably an astronomical
observatory”(Secret Teachings of All Ages, XLIX). Durant tells us: Every planet was a
god…: Jupiter was Marduk, Mercury was Nabu, Mars was Nergal, the sun was Shamash,
the moon was sin, Saturn was Ninib (or Ninus), Venus was Ishtar” (Our Oriental
Heritage, 256. Emphasis mine). The seven gods of Babylon gave rise to the belief that
there were many gods. “The pagans looked upon the stars as living things, capable of
influencing the destinies of individuals, nations, and races,” says Hall (The Secret
Teachings Of All Ages, LIII). Durant says:
Like the sun and the moon, every star contained was a god, and moved at the
command of its indwelling spirit…All these marvelous bodies were not mere
bodies, they were the external forms of mighty spirits, gods whose wills—not
always concordant—ordained their complex and varied movements (Our
Oriental Heritage, 60,198).
In the vision of Hermes, we the revelation of Satan bringing the worship of Astrology to
the human race. Different scholars on the history of the ancient civilizations inadvertantly
tell us that this is the case. Maurice Cotterel says:

In the Supergods it became clear that superior beings visited earth, teaching
mankind the higher order of science and spirituality. These were the Supergods.
They were not from this planet, although where they were from is unclear. What is
clear is their relationship to the living god who created the earth and the heavens;
they were one and the same (The Tutankhamun Prophecies, 19).
Cotterel, of course, believes that the Supergods were beings of good will, and in the
book, The Tutankhamun Prophecies, Cotterel tells the folowing story:
This is a true story, about a boy king born through an immaculant conception on the
banks of the Nile more than 3,000 years ago. He taught his people the super-science
of the sun, worshipped the sun as the god of fertility, and performed miracles. When
he died they say he went to the stars. They called him the feathered snake.
But first I need to tell you about the boy king of Mexico. He, too, was born through
an immaculant conception, more than 1,250 years ago in the jungle of Mexico. He
taught his people the superscience of the sun, worshipped the sun as the god of
fertility, and performed miracles. When he died they say he went to the stars. They
called him the feathered snake (The Tutankhamun Prophecies, 1).
In other words this book describes two supergods that each visited different parts of the
world at different times, and these beings taught the super-science of the sun and were
known as feathered snakes. It is our belief that the "so called" supergods were fallen
angels who deceived mankind. The "super-science of the sun" and the "feathered snake"
all point back to the great Hermetic Dragon. What is amazing about books, such as the
one above, is that there is evidence to prove that much of what the ancients believed
came from beings outside of planet earth. When this information is tied into the Biblical
account of the Great Controversy between good and evil, then it becomes clear that, truly,
the ancients were visited by Lucifer and his angels.
Ultimately, the super-science of the sun and the feathered snake of these legends
is the worship of the great Dragon or Serpent (Satan) through the mediums of the stars. In
the vision of Hermes, we see that Satan has used the Sun to symbolize himself as the
great “light bearer.” Satan had every precious stone as his covering (Ezekiel 28:13 – 15,
17). He was once called “Lucifer” which can mean, “light bearer” or “shining one.”
He was also called “son of dawn.” Ultimately it was Lucifer’s aim to be above Christ.
Lucifer was given a very exalted position in heaven. He was a “shining one,” because he
stood next to the true “light bearer,” Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the holder of the
Father’s light. Lucifer coveted the position of Jesus; he wanted to be the holder of God’s
light. As we are seeing and will see, Satan takes the attributes of God and God’s
kingdom and twists these glorious things for the worship of himself. The New Testament
reveals the Godhead as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the book of Revelation
indicates that God has 7 churches, 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 last plagues with 7 angels
governing the manifestations of His power. Satan took on himself the attribute of the
Godhead as a great serpent, dragon with seven astrological governors. Satan indeed wants
“to be like the Most High.”

666, THE MYSTICAL NUMBER OF THE SUN
666 In Babylon
Different Ziggurats of Babylon possessed seven layers to represent the seven
planetary gods, and these seven gods represented the seven-fold nature of the Great
Dragon. Out of the seven planetary gods, the sun was the primary representation of the
Dragon power. The sun was viewed as the primary god, for it was believed that the sun
was the creator of all life. The Chaldeans were inspired to develop a sophisticated
mathematical system congruous to, what they believed, was the sun’s daily and yearly
path around the earth. Durant reveals:
Babylonian mathematics rested on a division of the circle into 360 degrees, and
of the year into 360 days; on this basis it developed a sexagesimal system of
calculation by sixties, which became the parent of later duodecimal systems of
reckoning by twleves…[The Babylonians] divided the ecliptic (i.e., the path of
the earth around the sun) into twelve signs of the Zodiac (Our Oriental Heritage,

The astrological system bequeathed from Satan to Babylon gives us a
representation of the number “666” as an important numerical value in its system of
worship. The seven-headed Dragon represented himself to the Chaldeans primarily
through the sun, and the mystical number that has been attributed to the sun is 666, which
points to the Dragon trinity, both in essence and function.
The Zodiac, as it pertains to the daily rotation of the sun, is divided into two
halves: Day and Night. In each half we find 6 houses. There are 6 houses in the day and 6
houses in the night equaling 12 houses total. Within each house, there are 3 rooms, which
the sun passes through, equaling 18 rooms in the day and 18 in the night—with a total of
36 rooms in the Zodiac. Within each half of the Zodiac the trinity of the sun is ever in
focus. There are three rooms per house representing the passage of the THREE SUNS

through the ecliptic of the Zodiac. The 18 rooms in each half of the Zodiac are made up
of: 3 x 6. Each half of the Zodiac—both day and night, and mutually exclusive from
each other—is made up of 6 + 6 + 6, representing the trinity of the sun in its three main
points: beginning, middle, and ending. Also, when we take the Zodiac in its entirety,
meaning, the complete circle of it in both its day and night rotation combined, we get
666. Here is the example: There are 36 rooms in both halves of the Zodiac. We add. 1
+ 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20 +
21 + 22 + 23 + 24 + 25 + 26 + 27 + 28 + 29 + 30 + 31 + 32 + 33 + 34 + 35 + 36 = 666.
The 666 trinity of the sun, points to the Dragon trinity. Little do people realize how much
the daily Zodiac of Babylon contributed to the modern methods of calculating time.
Durant tells us:
The division of our month into four weeks, of our clock into twelve hours
(instead of twenty-four), of our hour into sixty minutes, and of our minute into
sixty seconds, are unsuspected Babylonian vestiges in our contemporary world
(Our Oriental Heritage, 257, 258).

Not only was the Zodiac conceptualized to represent the daily path of the sun
around the earth; but also, it was conceptualized to represent the yearly path of the sun
around the earth. Hall says, “Each year the sun passes entirely around the zodiac and
returns to the point from which it started—the vernal equinox” (Secret Teachings Of All
Ages, LIII). To the Babylonians, the 12 sections of the Zodiac were not only applicable to
the daily rotation of the sun, but also its yearly rotation. This is why the Babylonians
applied a 12-month year with 360 days. Thus, the numerical value of the sun on a yearly
bases was 666. The number 666 was the sacred number of the sun in both its daily and
the yearly rotatation.
666 As Applied To The Other Planets
The Zodiac was conceptually constructed on the basis of the geocentric theory,
which means, the ancients believed the earth was the center of the solar system. Said
another way, the earth was believed to be the center of the Zodiac. Consequently, not only
the Sun; but the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn were believed to rotate
around the earth in the Zodiac. Thus, 666 could also be implicated to the other planets.
With this in mind, we must ask: Why is the number 666 more important in its application
to the Sun than the other six planets? The following statement from Franz Cumont
explains this question:
“The solar theology of the ‘Chaldeans’ had a decisive effect upon the final
development of Semetic paganism…[It led to their] seeing the sun the directing
power of the cosmic system. All the Baals were thence forward turned into suns;
the sun itself being the mover of the other stars—like it eternal and
“unconquerable.”…Such was the final form reached by the religion of the pagan
Semites, and, following them, by that of the Romans…when they raised “Sol
Invictus” [the invincible Sun] to the rank of supreme divinity in the Empire
(“The Frontier Provinces of the East,” in The Cambridge Ancient History,” Vol.
11, 646, 647).

The Sun was believed to be “the directing power of the cosmic system” and “the
mover of the other stars.” The other planets were viewed as smaller suns of the one
grand Sun, for the grand solar orb was the preeminent God of the smaller gods. As was
noted earlier, the Borsippa Ziggurat possessed the sun on the top level as the first god of
the following six. Concerning the number one, Georg Feuerstein tells us:
The One is considered to be the atemporal and aspatial origin of all
manifestation. It is equated with the Divine, the Godhead, the Absolute prior to
all differentiated forms (Spirituality by the Numbers, 21, 22).
To the pagans of ancient Babylon, the number ONE pointed to the first god of
importance, the SUN. The differentiated forms of the One, pointed to the other
planetary gods; meaning, all gods of pagan idolatry had their identity in the one god, the
sun. As a result, the number, 666, could be implicated to the other planets, BUT ONLY
IN THEIR RELATION TO THE SUN. We can further explain this reasoning by the
following diagrams:

In the first diagram, the six planets carry the number, 666, because they are
differentiated forms of the one. The sun, the primary carrier of 666, is the directing
power of the cosmic system and the mover of the stars. Now, the second diagram
shows that if we were to some how eliminate the sun, the values of the other planets
would become zero. Moreover, all the Babylonian philosophical meanings to the six
planets would become meaningless, for it is in the sun—the light of the Great Dragon—
that all numerology and astrological philosophy has its existence.
Note: It is unequivocal that the sun was the 666 god of Babylon.
666 Continues In Egypt Through The Pyramids
The mathematical system of the Chaldeans can also be seen in Egypt. The
Egyptians made great use of the Zodiac in the building of the great pyramids. The Great
Pyramid of Egypt is built on a square and has four faces—or four triangles. Hall tells us:
From each side of the square there rises a triangle, typifying the three fold divine
being enthroned within every quaternary material nature. If each base line be
considered a square from which ascends a threefold spiritual power, then the sum
of the lines of the four faces (12) and the four hypothetical squares (160

constituting the base is 28, the sacred number of the lower world. If this be added
to the three septenaries compossing the sun (21), it equals 49, the square of 7 and
the number of the universe (The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, XLIV).
Interestingly, the number twelve—the number of the Zodiac—is found by the
multiplication of the 3 x 4 (the three points of the triangle multiplied by the four bases or
the four triangles multiplied by the three points); thus, the Pyramid is inextricably
connected to the Zodiac. Moreover, the number seven is connected to the pyramid. This
seven is undoubtedly symbolic of the seven-headed Dragon from which the 12 houses of
the Zodiac were derived to represent. Even more interesting than this correlation, is
another statement made by Hall:
The houses of the zodiac become the thrones for twelve Celestial Hierarchies, or
as certain of the ancients state, ten Divine Orders. Pathagoras taught that 10, or
the unit of the decimal system, was the most perfect of all numbers, and he
symbolized the number ten by the lesser tetractys, an arrangement of ten dots in
the form of an upright triangle (The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, LVI).
In other words, there are Ten Divine Orders connected to the Triangle—in
connection with the Zodiac. We can see ten Orders of the number 36—the number of the
Zodiac—in the triangle: 10 x 36 = 360 degrees. The summary number of 36 (1 + 2 +
3….36 = 666). 666 is the number of the sun or the Dragon; thus, in the triangle, we have
ten Divine Orders of the 666 god.
Obviously, the Egyptians borrowed their mathematical enumerations of the sun
from the Chaldeans, for the Egyptian system—like the Babylonian system—is based on
60’s, 36’s and 12’s. Another example of this is seen in the following: If we divide the
360 degrees of the triangle by the three points, we get 120 degrees for each point (120 x 3
= 360); the number 120 is made up of 2 x 60; in other words, it takes 6 x 60 to make 360.
The reason that the triangle is made up of (6 x 60) or (10 x 36); is simply because the
pyramid is unequivocally a representation of the sun god. Hall says, “In modern Masonry,
the Deity is symbolized by an equilateral triangle, its three sides representing the primary
manifestation of the Eternal One” (The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, XLIX). Was the Eternal

One—according to the Egyptians—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? No! Hall
inadvertently tells the opposite:
By the Egyptians the Great Pyramid was associated with Hermes, the god of
wisdom and letters and the divine Illuminator worshipped through the planet
Mercury. Relating Hermes to the Pyramid emphasizes anew the fact that it was in
reality the supreme temple of the Invisible and Supreme Deity (The Secret
Teachings Of All Ages, XLIV).
The Great Pyramid was associated with Hermes, and he was associated with the Dragon
and the sun; thus, the Pyramid was a representation of the Dragon power and the sun.
The Eternal One of the Egyptians was the sun. We agree with W. Max Muller’s
understanding of Egypt:
The belief became current that the sun, the greatest of all cosmic forces, grew
quite by himself out of the abyss as the “god who begat” or “formed himself”;
and that he then created the space of air between heaven and earth (Shu and
Tefenet), after whom heaven and earth (Qeb and Nut) themselves were brought
into being. From these gods came the rest of the creation, including the new sun
as Osiris, and the sun-god continued to create gods and finally produced men
from his eyes, ect (Louis Herbert Gray, A.M.,PH.D., George Foot Moore,
A.M.,D.D.,LL.D., eds. The Mythology of All Races, Vol. 12, by W. Max Muller,
49, 50).
Connected to the Great Pyramids—in Egypt—is the depiction of the “all seeing eye.”
Hall tells us:
Osiris is not the sun, but the sun is symbolic of the vital principle of Nature,
which the ancients knew as Osiris. His symbol, therefore, was an opened eye, in
honor of the Great Eye of the universe, the sun (The Secret Teachings Of All
Ages, XLV Emphasis mine).
We are going to see that Osiris is simply the Egyptian name for Nimrod and Tammuz
who were defied as the sun-god—incarnate. The “all seeing eye” of Egypt is simply
another symbol of the sun as the great god of the universe; and is therefore a symbol of
the Dragon—who is Lucifer trying to “be like the Most High.” We must emphasize:
There are those who make the assumption that the “all seeing eye” (Ezra 5:5; Psalm 17:8;
33:18) and eyes (Psalm 34:15; 66:7) of Jehovah are the same as the sun god; meaning,
Jehovah and the sun god are the same gods. Those who have this view have not come to
the realization of the great battle between Good and Evil. They have misplaced values of
conceptual essence, for they have not rightly divided the things of God from the things of
Satan.
The secret numerology of the pyramids can also be visualized in the Rosicrucian
(a secret society) mystery of the CUBE. In the chapter “Fifteen Rosicrucian and
Qabbalistic Diagrams,” Hall elucidates on the Rosicrucian mysteries. Let us ask: What is
significant about the CUBE?

In the Rosicrucian mystery, the Cube posses 6 surfaces with a
four-point base for each surface—representing the four elements
of earth. From each four-point surface of the Cube, there arises
a pyramid made of four triangles; therefore, the Cube is made
up of 6 pyramids. The six-pyramid structure within the cube
demonstrates some very interesting numerology.

Notice, in the preceding diagram, that we divide the 6 pyramids into two sets of 3.
Like the Zodiac, the numbers’ 6 and 3 are ever in focus. If we multiply the four faces of
each pyramid by the three points—representing the sun deity—within each face, we
come up with 4 x 3 = 12 for each pyramid as a whole. Notice that in each triad set, when
we multiply the three pyramids by the number 12, we come up with 36—the number of
the Zodiac in its complete rotation. When we take both sets of 36 and multiply this
number by 2, we get 72, which Hall says is the magical number of the Cube (See The
Secret Teachings Of All Ages, CXLV). This is interesting because of the fact that 72 is made
up of four sets of 3 x 6 = 18 or 6 + 6 + 6. Two sets of 18 within each 3 pyramid row =
36, thus each pyramid row points to a complete Zodiac. Moreover, if we take the
summary number for 36—for each row—we get 666. When we multiply 666 by 2, we get
1332. Interestingly, the square root of 1332 is 36. Therefore, the system of 666 is the
mystery of the Cube and the pyramids. Concerning the fifteen diagrams of the
Rosicrucians, which contains the depiction of the Cube, Hall says, “Lucifer is the greatest
mystery of symbolism. The secret knowledge of the Rosicrucians concerning Lucifer is
nowhere plainly set forth as in these plates, which virtually reveal his true identity…”
(The Secret Teachings Of All Ages, CXLV).
This mathematical system is undoubtedly the continuation of Chaldean
mathematics, and as we are seeing it is a very meticulously structured system. It is a
numerical system that makes the numbers’ 60, 36, 18, 12, 10, 6, and 3 the foundations for
hierarchical expansion. What do we mean by hierarchical expansion? These special

numbers are present in each triangle, pyramid, row, and rows. Notice the following
calculations in ascending order:
Each triangle is made up of: 360 degrees: (6 x 60); (10 x 36); (20 x 18); (30 x 12); (36 x 10); (60
x 6); (120 x 3). Said another way, there are 6 sets of 60; 10 sets of 36; 20 sets of 18; 30 sets of 12;
36 sets of 10; 60 sets of 6; 120 sets of 3. Apply this thinking to the following illustrations.
Each pyramid is made up of 1440 (360 x 4) degrees: (24 x 60); (40 x 36); (80 x 18); (120 x 12);
(144 x 10); (240 x 6); (480 x 3).
The three pyramid row is 4,320 (1,440 x 3) degrees: (72 x 60); (120 x 36); (240 x 18); (360 x
12); (432 x 10); (720 x 6); (1440 x 3).
Both pyramid rows are 8,640 (1,440 x 6) degrees: (144 x 60); (240 x 36); (480 x 18); (720 x 12);
(864 x 10); (1440 x 6); (2880 x 3).
Another aspect of this numerology is the number 144. Each pyramid possesses a
value of 1,440 made up of (360 x 4). Interestingly, if we consider the 4 foundations of
each pyramid and multiply them by (the 4 faces x the 3 points of each face), we get 48 for
each pyramid. When we multiply 48 by the 3 pyramids in each row, we get 144 (12 x 12).
Revelation 21:12 indicates that the New Jerusalem has 12 gates with the names of the 12
tribes of Israel (See Rev. 7). Revelation 21:14 shows that there are 12 foundations with
the names of the 12 apostles. The 12 gates multiplied by the 12 foundations = 144. The
New Jerusalem has 4 sides with 3 gates on each side; this gives us the number 12.
Moreover, this city is described as being on a foundation that is foursquare.
Notice the similarity between the pyramid and the New Jerusalem. The pyramid
is on 4 foundations, has four faces, and has three points on each face. The New Jerusalem
is on a four-fold foundation, has four sides, and three gates on each side. These
similarities have led some scholars to believe that the gods of Egypt, which the pyramids
were dedicated to, are essentially the same as Jehovah, while other scholars believe that
there may have been an original structure built by a true believer in God, which structure
was contorted into other structures congruous with the designs of Paganism. This latter
position may be possible. We must emphasize three statements on this whole matter:
(1) Of course the devil will retain God’s system of mathematics in the pyramid
system, for he wants to BE LIKE the Most High. The number 3 is applicable to the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Satan has borrowed this number for his pretended
trinity. The number 7 is applicable to God, and Satan has borrowed this number as well.
In light of the nature of Satan, why wouldn’t he retain other numbers that belong to God
and His kingdom?
(2) When scripture mentions numbers like 3, 4, 7, 12, 144 as being important in
the mysteries of God, these numbers are highlighted as such. We do not see God
emphasizing these numbers in connection with 60, 36, 18, and 6. Though 144 possesses
(4 x 36) and (8 x 18)—for example—these numbers (18 and 36) are not important themes
in scripture; they are just numbers, whereas in Satan’s system, 666 becomes the base for
heavenly mathematics. This can be visualized in the legend of Lord Pacal of the Maya
and Tutankhamun of the Egyptians. Cotterell says: “Lord Pacal had 144,000 written on
his forehead, and the number 666 was encoded into his jade necklace, and we note that
Tutankhamun was the 144th object, inside his coffin, and also the numbers 144,000 and
666 are encoded in his sun-ray necklace” (The Tutankhamun Prophecies, 138).

Thus God’s system is contorted into a system that retains its overall numerology, while
the numerical element of Satan is highlighted. For example, in the preceding diagram
each row represents the number 36, which is contained in the 12 houses of the Zodiac. In
other words, each row can also represent the number 12. If we multiply both rows—
equaling 12—we get 144. But notice that the base of this 144 consists of: 6 triangles into
2 rows of 3 in which 36 is the base of each row. These numbers are not just elements
connecting the whole, as in God’s system, they are highlighted themes which belong to
Satan’s contortions—contortions that point to sun worship.
(3) This section in particular needs to be analyzed with chapter 9, for in that
chapter, we expound on the symbolism of the “all seeing eye” above the “pyramid” on
the American dollar and this symbol’s connection with the secret societies. In essence,
the pyramid represents a counterfeit New World Order. This object can actually be
viewed as a blue print of Satan. The heavenly mathematics with a 666 base points to a
counterfeit Christian system in which Satan appears as an angel of light and in which
Satan is the architecture. The pyramid with its numerology—connecting both God’s
numerology and the numerology off 666 into a single mountain—points to the worldwide
Mt. Carmel of the last days, made up of the trinity of evil: the Dragon, the Beast, and the
False Prophet.
We will close this section on the pyramids by emphasizing that there are far more
mathematical elaborations that can be visualized—far more than we are looking at in this
chapter. The depths and the mysteries that can be discovered in the Cube and the
pyramids in general are astounding. This is a course of study favored by Freemasons and
other secret societies.
The Egyptians Predicted Future Events Through 666
The numerology of Egypt is inextricably connected to the 666 god. This is seen
in the following astrological chart, which uses the 36 numbers of the Zodiac and was
used in Egypt to predict future events:

This astrological chart contains 6 rows across and 6 rows down. Each row adds up to 111.
When we multiply 111 x 6 we come up with 666. Concerning this chart, Feuerstein
described its meaning as follows:
The Western hermetic tradition originated with Pythagoras, who was inspired by
the Egyptians. In this tradition, sacred geometry was of paramount importance.
One of the great mathematical mysteries concerned the magical square of the
sun, consisting of the numbers 1 to 36, arranged in rows and columns of six
numbers each…Each row and each column adds up to 111, making a total of 666
for the magical square. This number was considered symbolical of the sun as the
solar spirit, animating our universe (Spirituality by the Numbers, 242, 243.
Emphasis mine.). [Notice that Feuerstein attributes this knowledge to Egypt.]
The Phoenix Of Egypt
Adam Clarke, the great Methodist Commentator, tells us: “The method…of representing
numbers by letters of the alphabet, gave rise to a practice among the ancients of
representing names also by numbers” (Clarke’s Commentary. Vol. 6, 1025). This is a very
interesting observation made by Clarke, because as we are going to see, the number, 666,
is found through different names that are connected to the sun. In Clarke’s Commentary
we find a list of the Greek alphabet with numerical values attached (this is also applied to
the Hebrew and the Latin languages.). Clarke emphasizes that God chose to have the
New Testament written in Greek for the reason that the Greek linguistic numerical system
identifies much of the secret numerology of the 666 system. Clarke was truly on the right
track, as we are going to see.

We find that the tradition of giving the number 666 to names of significance existed in
Babylon and continued in Egypt. In Egypt, the Phoenix was a mythical bird of great
importance. It was intimately connected to the sun. In the book Illuminati: 666, W. J.
Sutton tells us:
Now, it just so happens that one of the old spellings of Phoenix is Phenex or
Fenex in Greek transliterations. Like the name Lucifer, Phoenix means “Shining
One” (The Illuminati 666, 113, 70).
Why is this significant? This is significant because Fenex has the Greek numerical value

Let us ask the question: Ultimately, what does the Phoenix represent? Hall shows:
The phoenix was regarded as sacred to the sun, and the length of its life (500
to 1000 years) was taken as a standard for measuring the motion of the heavenly
bodies and also the cycles of time used in the Mysteries to designate the periods
of existence (The Secret Teachings of All Ages, XC. Emphasis mine).
The Phoenix (the shining one)—ultimately—represents the sun; and therefore, represents
Lucifer. This is why the original spelling of this word equals 666.
Now, we will ask another important question: What was the purpose of the
Phoenix in Egypt? Hall says, “To the ancient mystics the phoenix was a most appropriate
symbol of the immortality of the human soul. . . . ” (The Secret Teachings of All Ages,
XC. Emphasis mine). The Egyptians believed that at death, the Phoenix carried one’s soul
to the sun. Thus, the Phoenix was the bridge between the dead and the sun god.
Interestingly, Sutton shows that the Phoenix has an additional meaning to that of
the chief sun god; he also represents the hidden sun god, Osiris (See The Illuminati 666,
70 ). Osiris is the Egyptian name for both Nimrod and Tammuz, while Isis is the
Egyptian name for Semiramis or Ishtar, Nimrod’s wife. Osiris applies to Tammuz as well
as Nimrod, because, in the Chaldean mystery, Tammuz was believed to be the incarnation
of Nimrod. This is why, as Durant points out: “In the Babylonian form he [Tammuz] is
sometimes her [Ishtar] lover, sometimes her son” (Our Oriental Heritage, 238. Emphasis
mine). In other words, Osiris was viewed as both the father and the son. According to
history, Nimrod (Osiris)—while alive—was the lover of Semiramis (Isis). According to
the myth, sometime after Nimrod (Osiris) died and ascended into the sun, Semiramis
(Ishtar) gave birth to a boy who was believed to be the incarnation of Nimrod (Osiris);
thus, we have the reasons for applying Osiris to both Nimrod and Tammuz—as lover and
son.
So, in other words—in the tradition of the Phoenix—Nimrod and Tammuz by the
Egyptian name of Osiris was a human god and representative of Lucifer, who—when
people died—brought the souls of the dead to the sun. This means that Osiris was
implicated as a smaller sun representing the greater sun—the Dragon. Said another way,
Osiris was believed to be the son of the sun god—in a way that Jesus is the son of the
Father. This is another example of how the Devil has emulated God. That Osiris was
believed to be the bridge and mediator to eternal life, is seen in the following statement
by Durant:
The body, Egypt believed, was inhabited by a small replica of itself called the ka,
and also by a soul that dwelt in the body like a bird flitting among trees. All of
these—body, ka and soul survived the appearance of death; they could escape
mortality for a time in proportion as the flesh was preserved fro decay; but if
they came to Osiris clean of all sin they would be permitted to live forever…
(Our Oriental Heritage, 202. Emphasis mine).

The 666 God, TEITAN, In Both Greece And Rome
We find that the number 666 can also be found in Greece and was applied to the
Greek god Teitan. Sutton shows that Teitan is actually a Greek name for Satan and
possess the numerical value of 666 (See The Illuminati 666, 69).

Hislop too argues that Teitan was another name for Satan:
Teitan is just the Chaldean form of Sheitan, the very name by which Satan has
been called . . .by the devil worshippers of Kurdistan; and from Armenia or
Kurdistan, this Devil-worship embodied in the Chaldean Mysteries came
westward to Asia Minor, and thence to Etruria and Rome (The Two Babylons,
276).
Hislop—through Roman mythology—reveals how Teitan was just another name for the
serpent power.
Though Teitan, in the days of Hesiod and in early Greece, was an opprobrious
name,” yet in Rome, in the days of the Empire and before, it had become the very
reverse. “The splendid or glorious Teitan” was the way in which Teitan was
spoken of at Rome. This was the title commonly given to the Sun, both as the
orb of day and viewed as a divinity. Now, the reader has seen already that
another form of the sun-divinity, or Teitan, at Rome, was the Epidaurian snake,
worshipped under the name of “AEsculapius,” that is, “the man-instructing
serpent.” Here, then, in Rome was Teitan, or Satan, identified with the “serpent
that taught mankind,” that opened their eyes (when, of course, they were blind),
and gave them “the knowledge of good and evil” (The Two Babylons, 278, 279).
The name Teitan possesses the number 666, because, as Hislop says, “This title was
commonly given to the Sun” and was equated with “AEsculapius.” The “man-
instructing serpent” as a concept is clearly derived from the Chaldean worship of the
seven-headed Dragon.
Let us raise the question: Why was Teitan viewed as both a good and an evil god?
In the Chaldean mysteries it was believed that the great Dragon or Serpent power was a
dualistic god. Parts of this dualism can be seen in the Assryo-Babylonian myth of
creation. According to the Babylonian myth, two monstrous serpents—Lakhmu and
Lakhamu—were the first born in the creation, and they gave birth to the male and female
principles of the celestial and terrestrial worlds (See New Larousse Encyclopedia Of
Mythology. “Assyro-Babylonian Mythology” by F. Guirand, 49). These two monstrous
serpents were symbolical analogies of the great Hermetic Dragon. Because the sun was
the representation of the Dragon, it was believed that the sun was both male and female
both good and evil. In the two sections of the Zodiac we see a representation of this
dualism. During the day the Dragon power—represented by the sun—was a good god;
but at night, he was considered an evil god. Egyptian myths concerning Ra’s battle
against the evil serpent, Apep, imply the dualism of the sun:

From the moment that the sun-god left earth for heaven his life was immutably
regulated. During the twelve daylight hours he rode in his boat from east to west
across his kingdom. He took great care to avoid the attack of his eternal enemy
Apep, the great serpent who lived in the depths of the celestial Nile and
sometimes—for instance during total eclipses—succeeded in swallowing the
solar barque. But Apep was always at last vanquished by Ra’s defenders and cast
back into the abyss.
During the twelve hours of darkness the perils which Ra faced were even greater.
But again they were overcome and at night he passed from cavern to cavern,
receiving the acclamations of the inhabitants of the underworld who waited with
impatience for the light he bore and after his departure fell back into the agony of
darkness (New Larousse Encyclopedia Of Mythology. “Egyptian Mythology” by
J. Viaud, 11).
We agree with Hall where he says, “Primitive conceptions concerning the warfare
between Good and Evil were often based upon the alterations of day and night” (Secret
Teachings Of All Ages, LII). Teitan could be seen as both good and evil, because Teitan
was another name for the sun or the Dragon. As we have seen in the Zodiac, the number
666 can be applied to, not only the complete value of the circle, but also each half of the
Zodiac—bringing out the dualism of this symbol.
666 In Rome
On preceding pages, we read an interesting statement from Wylie: “It was in the
soil of the Seven Hills, amid the trophies of unnumbered victories, the symbols of
universal empire, and the gorgeous rites of a polluting polytheism, that Romanism, velut
arbor aevo, grew up” (The Papacy: History, Dogmas, Genius, And Prospects, Book 1,
p.11). We must ask: Did the Seven Hills of Rome become the seat of the seven headed
Dragon, and did the Seven Hills of Rome become the seat of 666?
Hislop tells us: “The original name of Rome itself was Saturnia, ‘the city of
Saturn’” (The Two Babylons, 270). In the Mythology of All Races we read: “From the
ancient prominence of Saturnus, or, in English, Saturn, Italy was often known in myth as
Saturnia” (William Sherwood Fox, Mythology of All Races, Vol. 1, 292).
What is significant about the name Saturn? As we have seen, Nimrod was
considered the father of the god’s. Nimrod’s position was described by the title Kronos;
meaning, the “Horned one.” Hislop further says, “the name Kronos is (also) applied to
Saturn as the ‘Father of the gods’”(The Two Babylons, 32). Saturn is the name by which
Nimrod was known in the Chaldean mysteries. Hislop emphasizes:
Saturn and Mystery are both Chaldean words, and they are correlative terms. As
Mystery signifies the Hidden system, so Saturn signifies the Hidden god. To
those who were initiated the god was revealed; to all else he was hidden. Now the
name Saturn in Chaldee is pronounced Satur; but, as every Chaldee scholar
knows, consists only of four letters, thus-Stur (The Two Babylons, 269).
Hislop illustrates that the Chaldean numerical value of Stur is 666.

Why is the correlation between Nimrod’s hidden name—being Saturn—and the city of
Rome—being the city of Saturn—so important? The importance is obvious! Rome
became the seat of Nimrod. That Rome became the seat of Nimrod can also be visualized
in the Roman sun god, Lateinos. Hislop argues: “Saturn and Lateinos are just synonyms,
having precisely the same meaning, and belonging equally to the same god (The
TwoBabylons, 270). Hislop further elaborates:
Moreover, it is evident that the Romans knew that the name ‘Lateinos’ signified
the ‘Hidden One,’ for their antiquarians invariably affirm that Latium received its
name from Saturn ‘lying hid’ there (The TwoBabylons, 270).
What does this mean? According to Hislop, Rome’s Lateinos is really Stur who is
Nimrod. As Stur equals 666, Lateinos in its Greek numerical value equals 666.

Another important point to realize about the name, Lateinos, is that it also
represents the Roman sun god, LATIN and “LATIN MAN.” We must notice that Saturn
was attributed to Nimrod, while Lateinos was attributed to both the Sun and Saturn
(Nimrod). It is important to realize that in Paganism, the six planets—outside of the sun
—were attributed to the figureheads of Babylon, such as Venus being attributed to the
mother goddess (Semiramis) and the planet mercury being attributed to Hermes (Ham).
The name, Lateinos, seems to connect Nimrod, who in the Chaldean mysteries was
represented by Saturn, with the first god of importance, the sun. This makes complete
sense, because in the Chaldean mysteries, before Saturn was attributed to Nimrod, it was
believed that Nimrod had ascended into the sun—the Great Dragon or 666 god; then
became a human representative of the sun in heavenly places as “Lord of Heaven” (See
The Two Babylons, 165, 264). Then Nimrod commenced to be the representative or
human personification of the sun in the person of Tammuz through the incarnation.
Therefore, it seems likely that the name, Lateinos, which means the sun god, “LATIN,”
“LATIN MAN,” and “THE HIDDEN ONE” connects the great Dragon with the sun
kings.
Lateinos seems to be more of a personification name and connotation of Teitan.
Teitan, as we saw, was the title given to the Sun and was equated with “Aesculapius, the
man-instructing serpent,” while Lateinos combines the position of Nimrod with the
Dragon.

Thus, in these names we have elusive pictures of the sun and the sun king. So, in
essence, Rome became the seat of Nimrod—the original sun king of Paganism—and the

seat of the great Dragon; hence, Rome became the seat of Babylon. No wonder the Lord
depicts Pagan Rome—in Revelation 12—as the great seven-headed Dragon; the seven
hills of Rome became the seat of Paganism. In Clarke’s Commentary, we find that Clarke
identifies the title “The Latin Kingdom”—in its Greek name—with the number 666.
Clarke emphasizes, “No other kingdom on earth can be found to contain 666” (Clarke’s
Commentary, 1026).

The Bavarian Reformer, Andreas Osiander (1498 – 1552), was a Hebrew scholar who
identified that Malchuth Romijth (Roman Kingdom) has the numerical value of 666
(Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers, Vol. 2, 300). It makes complete sense that the Roman
Kingdom should possess the numerical value of 666, for as Sutton points out, the word
“VATICAN” means “DIVINATION BY THE SERPENT” (The Illuminati 666, 38).
Is the number, 666, to be found in Rome? Absolutely! Even in something as
simple as the Roman numeral system, we find sun worship. Originally, the Roman
letter/numerical system consisted of the letters I V X L C D—without the letter M; the
letter M was a latter addition. Interestingly, the original Roman numerals add up to 666:

Since the Roman Catholic Church is the continuation of Pagan Rome, does the
Catholic Church too carry the number of the Dragon, the 666 god? Is it an coincidence
that the name Italian Church—in Greek—equals 666?

There is no coincidence here, for the Roman Catholic Church sits on the seven-hills of
Rome; and the Papacy is Satan’s masterpiece; it is Nimrod’s kingdom fully realized. We
have already proved in chapter 5 that the Papacy is the Antichrist, so it is no big thing that
it should carry the number of the Dragon.
Not only does Papal Rome carry the number, 666, but we are told that the man “in
charge” of the Papacy carries that number. Revelation 13:18 says:
Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the
beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
Let us ask for emphasis: Who is the man that is “in charge” of the Beast? 2 Thessalonians
2:3, 4 tells us:
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the
falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped,
so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
The MAN OF SIN and SON OF PERDITION is the man over the Beast who carries the
number 666, and this man is the POPE. Does he too carry the number, 666? Georg
Nigrinus (1530 – 1602), Evangelical theologian from Germany, stated the matter
factually, as it pertains to identifying 666 to the actual man of lawlessness, where he says:
Therefore, even if the name with its secret number would never be known, we
have sufficient other signs to be able to recognize the Roman Antichrist, as the
Jesuit must admit and has already admitted (Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers, Vol.
2, 328).
Nigrinus stated this matter very factually. Even if we did not identify the number 666 to
the Pope, we have monumental evidence, as has been demonstrated in chapter five, to
prove that the Papacy is the Antichrist. However, as we are going to see, we have
identified the number 666 to the Pope, because the Papacy has a direct line to both Egypt
and Babylon.
If the Papacy—like Pagan Rome—is the continuation of the pagan system from
the days of Nimrod, it is likely that the tradition of applying the number of the sun to
kings (by reason of the belief that the kings were the incarnation of the sun) should also
continue in the Papacy. We learn from Dr. Leroy Froom that Master Andreas Helwig, or
Helwich (1572 – 1643) of Friedland was “author of an Etymological Greek dictionary
and a volume on Greek Vowels and Synonyms (1602)”(Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers,
Vol. 2, 605). Helwich cited five Latin names, as applicable to the Pope, with the
numerical value of 666: Lateinos, Vicarius Filii Dei, Ordinarius Ovilis, Christi Pastor,
Dux Cleri, and DicLux (Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers, Vol. 2, 606).

The fourteenth-century Lollard scholar, Walter Brute, commented on Duxcleri:
The number of his name, according to the opinion of some men, is, Dux Cleri,
the Captain of the Clergy, because by that name he is named, and maketh his
name known, and that is 666 (Cited in Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers, Vol. 2,
86).
Helwich focused on Vicarius Filii Dei, because this title is an expansion of the official
title Vicarius Christi. (Interestingly, Vicarius Christi in Greek is Anti Christos or Anti
Christ.) Helwick says:
Consequently, when we shall have brought forth the name of this Antichrist by
prescribed laws, everyone will at once know that as the name of Antichrist has
not been thus far disregarded, so the number in reference to it has been too little

taken note of. Without doubt, by God’s help, I will show that this is Vicarius Filii
Dei (Cited in Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers, Vol. 2, 86).
Helwich then explains that this title is very much in harmony with the views of the popes
concerning their position:
But behold this present [name] (Vicarius Filii Dei) in every way is such as is
required. For first, it is a Latin name, and most exactly renders with significant
letters that Apocalyptic number; then it harmonizes wholly and always with the
papal order in itself (even though by hypothesis [exhypothesi]), as no pontiff
denies; then it is not offensive or vile as imposed upon him by adversaries, but is
especially honorable to this very one, venerable, and formidable to others: which
all the pontiffs have now already ascribed to themselves for more than 600 years
(as is apparent), and do ascribe today, and wish to be ascribed: on which account
they vehemently glory and boast with an execrable voice that they hold, shared as
it were with the omnipotent God . . . (Cited in Prophetic Faith Of Our Fathers,
Vol. 2, 86).
Helwich argues that this title is very much in harmony with the papal boast that he is
“Vicar of the Son of God.” The Latin name has the following value:

Another important point to notice is that the word Vicarius or Vicar means “instead of” or
“in the place of.” This is the very definition of the Greek word “anti.” Therefore, this
title means “anti son of God” or “anti Christ”; which means, the pope is “in place” of
Christ; and by making such boasts, he is actually “against” Christ.
Is Vicarius Filii Dei a Legitimate Title of Popery?
Many Evangelicals and Catholics today are being taught by misguided leaders
that “Vicarius Filii Dei” is a fabricated name, a name that has been invented by Historic
Protestants. Patrick Madrid, the author of the article Pope Fiction, found in the Envoy
Magazine dated March/April 98, says to any Protestant who believes that Vicarius Filii
Dei is the title of Popery:
…ask him to furnish even one example of a papal decree, ecclesiastical
letter, conciliar statement, or any other official Catholic document in
which the pope calls himself or is referred to as the “Vicar of the Son of
God.” He won’t be able to find one, because none exist. Vicarius Filii Dei
has never been a title of the pope.
Michael Scheifler, at 666, The Number of the Beast , argues against this false notion
astutely, and shows that “Viacarius Filli Dei” was very much used by the Papacy for
centuries. How does Scheifler prove his argument? In short, The Donation of Constantine
is a forged document from about the 8th
century, which at least 10 popes utilized as proof
of their civil authority over Rome. Concerning this document, Colin McEvedy says:

The extreme Papal claims were expressed in a document purporting to be the will
of the Emperor Constantine in which he left the temporal rule of the whole West
to the Vicar of Christ. The Kings of the West were thus merely tenants of the
Pope, and their position had to be ratified by him. The fact that this detail had
never been observed was hardly surprising, as Constantine seems to have
neglected to draw up his will until he had been dead for four hundred years (The
Penguin Atlas of Medieval History, 56)
For centuries this document was incorporated into Catholic canon law. Scheifler quotes a
section of this material in the following:
sicut B. Petrus in terris VICARIUS FILII DEI esse videtur constitutus, ita et
Pontifices, qui ipsius principis apostolorum gerunt vices, principatus potestatem
amplius quam terrena imperialis nostrae serenitatis mansuetudo habere videtur,
conscessam a nobis nostroque imperio obtineant...
In English that is-
... as the Blessed Peter is seen to have been constituted vicar of the Son of God
on the earth, so the Pontiffs who are the representatives of that same chief of the
apostles, should obtain from us and our empire the power of a supremacy greater
than the clemency of our earthly imperial serenity is seen to have conceded to it,

In other words, Vicarius Fillii Dei, was incorporated into Catholic Law for several
centuries as a result of the Donation of Constantine. Scheifler proves his argument
through the Papacy’s 1879 Corpus Iuris Canonici which quotes the Donation of
Constantine; and, specifically quotes Vicarius Filii Dei.

Scheifler further proves his argument through a demonstration of the 1858 version of
volume 5 of Prompta Bibliotheca column 828, # 20, of article 2:
The issue is simple: If Vicarius Filii Dei is a Protestant creation as Madrid maintains, then
why is this title found in Catholic writings that predate the Reformation; and moreover,
why is this title to be found in 19th
century writings of Catholic Law? The Papacy
accepted this title prior to the reformation, witnessed the rise of Protestantism with all the
Protestant allegations of Popery being the antichrist; but yet, the Papacy still allowed
Vicarius Filii Dei to exist in 19th
century Catholic writings. The fact is Madrid does not
know what he is talking about. We agree with Scheifler’s response to Madrid:
The Roman Catholic Church is now stuck with the embarrassing legacy of
temporal papal authority being asserted for hundreds of years on the basis of a
fraudulent document, probably of the Church's own making. How ironic that in
the process of trying to assert papal authority, they are also permanently branded
by their own hand with Vicarius Filii Dei and 666. What poetic justice!
But even without Vicarius Filii Dei, The Pope does indeed carry the number, 666, for he
represents the position of Nimrod. Hislop tells us:
