2. Avengers assemble
With the framing of characters they tried to portray all the
characters in the movie as saviors and heroes behind the
ruble of what ever has cause it. It seems like they tried to
make them seem like heroes. If you had seen all the
movies of the characters in the movies themselves then
you would know that these are the heroes without
thinking otherwise. The characters are all standing up
making it seem like they are not broken and are in control.
If you had them on their needs then you would think they
have lost and are being beaten. The other of the actors
from the hero in front and the others in the background
shows their effect in the movie and who matters the most
or who has the biggest impact in the movie. The people behind creating this poster wanted
the people viewing it know what each heroes power is. This is done with Iron Man showing
his suit with bright neon blue light coming from the palm of his hands making it come
across as that is his power. His suit is equipped with advanced technology to beat anything.
3. With Thor his hammer is shown with him grasping it aggressively. This tells us that he
treasures his hammer and that might seem like the source of his powers. Hawkeye is the
same with his bow and arrow being the prominent object with him in the shot. Having
him getting ready to fire the arrow seems like that’s his power and that’s how
hebecomes an important character in the movie. Black widow is shown holding a gun in
her hands. This might seem like that is what she is good at. She seems like an agent
rather than a hero and is usually sent on missions rather than fight the bad guys head to
head. Nick Fury seems similar to black widow where he is also holding a gun both the
difference here is that he is holding the gun with both hands making it seem like he has
is ready for something and is used to firing his bullets. With Captain America you see
himstanding up without kneeling and looking into the distance. This goes with the codes
and conventions of his name where he is a proud American and does not kneel in front
of oppressors and he is the hero. His shield suggests what he is and that matters a lot to
him as it protects him. With Hulk it is easy to identify what he does in the movie, as he
seems very angry and aggressive. This is show he gets his powers, by being angry. With
him there’s not much to say beside him being the largest making it seem like he might
be the strongest.
4. The shot is done in a way to make it seem like a 3D poster. This is done by having the
ruble in the air seem like it is behind Iron man and that his hands is reaching out the
frame to make it seem like the bad thing that they are fighting is in your world. It gives
you a feeling of unease as the shot seems to be taken in action and this suggest that
they were fighting there at that moment and someone somehow got a picture of them.
Behind the heroes, you see earth getting torn apart ad this is shown by the jet getting
shot down and the buildings all damaged. A light coming from a building heading up
suggests importance and that might seem like a calling to the thing that the heroes are
fighting. The location is when by showing something that is linked to the specific
location and in this shot; it is the Empire State building.
There’s no main slogan to look for but there is the ‘Avengers Assemble’ title. This says
that they are team and assemble but how. This movie shows the story of how they put
all their differences aside and come together to fight evil.
5. Looking at all the characters stance and facial expression you think that this is a
serious movie where they are actually in danger and they have to fight evil. This
comes across to the audience as a serious movie for serious people but having
super heroes as the characters you know that there will be jokes as well as all
superhero movie have jokes in them as well.
To also entice the audience, they have included names of some of the stars in
the movie. These are all big star names as they have played in other movies
where it has become a box office success.
6. Skyfall
The poster contains 3 prominent colours. These are black, white and dark blue. This
suggests that the film is very simple. Taking it back to the basics and main focus on the
character and the story. The reason for this is the previous films were mainly based around
gadgets and how it got James Bond out of danger every time. The reason for James Bond’s
suit to be dark blue is that, they wanted him to stand out
above the black and white. This also shows the importance
of the main character and that he is in control, also to
show that he has great style with the suit.
Applying the Guttenberg principle tells us that the arm
is pointing somewhere and leading you to something.
Here is the gun in his hands and the gun is positioned in
the middle of the poster. This is there so that you can
see it wherever you look. The connotation behind the
gun is to that that is his weapon and he is most deadly
when using his gun. Also that, the gun is the only
gadget he uses which again shows the simplicity of the
film.
7. The London background is also in the poster. This shows where the movie is mainly set. In
usual bond movies, the main location is never set in London as this is their headquarters but
in this movie the headquarters is important in the movie.
To entice people who look at the cast and other important factors behind the movie, they
have included this. Here the company behind the film, the cast and also whom the story is
from. This matters a lot because to some people this shows how good the movie is, whether it
is a sell out of it is a movie where the story and acting is the most important thing in the
movie.
The design of the title is straight bold text. There is no curvature to the text. This is to show
the word ‘Skyfall’ is something very important to the film. This could tell us what the film is
about. The ‘007’ logo informs the audience that the film is a genuine James Bond movie and
the gun next to it is placed so you recognize the movie. This logo has been in every film in the
James Bond franchise.
The spiral with a whole in the movie is the classic thing to be included in the James Bond
franchise and this is internationally recognized as something in the James Bond films. This is
could as it brings greater audiences in to watch the movie if they just have a glance at the
poster and are reminded that this is a James Bond film.
8. The dark knight
Smoke suggests that there is a lot of mystery in the film. It could also suggest that there is a
lot of destruction in the film. this is a tool used to persuade people into watching the film.
Batman logo is on fire which might mean that it is the end of batman and that everything he
knows or sees might come to a decisive end.
‘Welcome to a world without rules’ tells us that anything
can happened and that there is no-one to stop it which
links to the end of batman. The image of batman tells us
that there is one person who can help bring order to
Gotham. Having the camera shot looking up at batman.
This shows his power and that they are kneeling in front
of him as he has a lot of power. Also this is helped by his
suit and some of the detail shown such as his belt tells us
that this is very important to him.
9. A famous cast full of know actors.the main actor (Christian Bala) os shows to be back
again playing the roles that he made his own in the previous film. The other actors such
as Gary Oldman and Morgan freeman who are both oscar winning actors. This shows the
experience bought to the film and how they will being there personality in to the film to
make it better and also bring bigger audience to watch the film as they are all high profile
actors.
To bring in larger audiences from the U.K. and also to show the U.K.s power in the film
industry. A british company is shows behind the production of the film. This was founded
by Christopher Nolan who is british and the director and writer for the film. To the world
this advertises the U.K. in the film industry as it entices them to create movies in U.K and
also work with British companies to help make their movies because this movie was such
as box office success, this helps the British economy.
Other information about the film is given such as the company that distributes the film
and also people behind the movie such as the editor, writer, producer and the director.
This is also used to entice people into coming to see the film.
