Ghana has made great strides towards becoming
the preeminent African nation in many sporting
disciplines. Popular sporting events in the
country include BOXING, TENNIS, BASKETBALL,
HOCKEY, CRICRET, RUGBY and ATHLETICS.
4. The religious composition of Ghana in the first
postindependence population census of 1960 was 30
percent Muslim. 38 percent traditionalist, 24 percent
Christian, and the rest about 8 percent other.
The percentage of the general population considered to be
christian rose sharply to 62 percent according to a 1985
estimate.
5. People in ghana take pride in how they dress.
There is often a gender and generation tends to
wear the universal costume of youth: Jeans and
T-shirt. The tradicional cloth associated whit
Ghana is called the kente. It is mix of cotton and
silk and is worn for special occasions .
