Discover Our Heritage - Houghton Mifflin
Late Work
20% deduction in grade for each day it’s late. No late work will be accepted after one week.
Missing/ Absent
One day for each day missed
Students are encouraged to ask the teacher for missed assignments and turn them in the next day. We encourage
our students to be their own educational advocate.
Projects
In lieu of taking an end-of-chapter test, students will have the opportunity to complete a unit project to present
the material mastered. These projects will be worth a large chunk of their grade. Therefore, to ensure student
success, some class time will be given to begin research and ask questions, but expect to do a significant amount at
home as well.
Expectations and due dates given 2-4 weeks in advance. Normal missing and absent rules do not apply.
Grades and Assignments
Teacher ease will be updated each week, please note that this is flexible due to longer grading time for projects/
assignments and portfolios.
