Degree-Level Qualifications
Most employers who run work placements and graduate schemes will expect a
minimum of a 2:1 degree in a related subject. The top disciplines to choose are
accounting, business and finance, economics, or maths and statistics, although
there are many top financial professionals with degrees in other areas such as
engineering, chemistry or computer sciences.
Vocational Qualification
Some employers will place stronger emphasis on vocational qualifications,
especially in areas such as tax, accounting and investment. However, these
can often best be achieved whilst already working within the financial
services industry.
Internships
An internship offers practical experience and insight into the industry as well
as a potential foot in the door when it comes to hiring for permanent roles.
