If you are wanting to be a successful online marketer, one of the most powerful strategies that you can take
advantage of today is video marketing.
Granted there are tons of online marketing strategies available, however in my opinion video marketing
creates the biggest impact on your viewer and deletes the skepticism mindset because they know you’re a
real person.
People want to see you, video allows you to humanize your message and content which is crucial because
we must remember that people join people not the product or service.
If you’re creating video’s of value that solve problems for your viewer you will be able to build a rapport and
relationship with your viewer.
They will begin to know, like and trust you.
Many marketers struggle with video topics so I have created a list of ideas below:
1. Lifestyle
2. Training
3. Recipe
4. Restaurant Review
5. Concert/Sports Events
6. Something cool you learned/Special skill
7. Famous places/Landmarks when traveling or in your hometown
8. Interview
9. Product Review
10. Something that inspired you
Remember just cutting the video is not enough.
You need eyeballs on your content otherwise the crickets will be the only thing you see and hear.
There are multiple ways and strategies to do this and the most powerful of all is uploading your video to
YouTube.
YouTube is the third highest ranked site across the globe, third to Google itself (who owns YouTube) and
good old Facebook coming in second.
According to YouTube here are some mind blowing viewership statistics:
More than 1 billion unique users visit YouTube each month
Over 6 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube—that’s almost an hour for
every person on Earth
100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute
80% of YouTube traffic comes from outside the US
YouTube is localized in 61 countries and across 61 languages
According to Nielsen, YouTube reaches more US adults ages 18-34 than any cable network
Millions of subscriptions happen each day. The number of people subscribing daily is up
more than 3x since last year, and the number of daily subscriptions is up more than 4x since
last year
*Before you even shoot your video, be sure that you have your intention set & research your keywords for
your topic & target audience on Google Keyword Planner*

Below are a few basic tips on uploading your video to YouTube:
LISTING:
Make sure your video is a public listing so that anyone can look it up and see it.
TITLE:
Have a good title! In your title you need to make sure you have your keyword.
CATEGORY:
YouTube has a selection of categories to choose from, make sure you choose the one most applicable to
your target market.
DESCRIPTION:
Your description can be up to 5000 words.
I know that seems like a lot but if you fill that in as much as possible – even around 2500 Google is more
likely to start ranking your video’s, especially if you mention your key word. Don’t keyword stuff though, you
want your words to be easily readable and make sense.
Remember Content is King but it must be quality content
The first line of your description needs to be your actual video title.
The second line should contain your link. The URL you would like people to click on when they have
finished watching your video.
These two points are critical because if you have your link any further down the page, it will be below the
fold which means people have to click on the show more link to find it which you don’t want.
When I cut a video I like to transcribe it as people learn and take in information in different ways: Visual,
auditory and linguistically.
If you don’t want to take the time yourself to transcribe it you can always pay someone to do it for you.
Rev, Fiverr, Odesk or Elance are a few good sites for this service.
KEYWORD TAGS:
Add your keywords that you’ve researched from Google Keyword Planner. You can even add your URL
watch link for this video, You Tube channel name (if different from your real name) your brand or company
name etc into keyword tags.
SHARE:
Make sure you share your YouTube video by clicking on the little icon buttons. The more accounts you
have with these social media services the better your social syndication will be which will mean more
views for you.
When choosing a thumbnail you can choose one of the suggested ones or choose your own.
I like to head on over to Addtext and design an eye catching thumbnail.
BONUS TIPS:
Keep a copy of your description for your video in a document file.
Just in case anything happens with your video or account you will always have a copy.
You can also use this for a blog post. ( Killing two birds with one stone so to speak)
When you shoot your video please make sure you remember that your viewer is always thinking “”What’s
in it for me?”
Make sure you always get to the point within the first 7 seconds of your video. If not you more than likely
lost your viewer.
People do not like dark, quiet, low energy, tired looking video’s.
