1. 26th and 27th Nov 2009, Bangalore
LIVELIHOOD CONNECT is a multi-disciplinary forum that will bring
together professionals from Community based organizations, Development
organizations, Social sciences, Design, Pedagogy, Business and Technology.
It is designed to facilitate information exchange and knowledge creation in
the area of livelihoods and employability, through various manifests like
online repositories, seed grants, conferences, publications and innovation
workshops such as LIVELIHOOD CONNECT–ACTION GROUP 1.
We would like to invite you to LIVELIHOOD CONNECT Action Group 1 - a two day, knowledge sharing and
innovation workshop that brings together diverse stakeholders to think about the future of employability in India.
The workshop will bring together recent research, stories from the field (narrated through film and photography),
expert views and a framework for innovation that combines expertise from design, technology and pedagogy.
2. LIVELIHOOD CONNECT–Action Group 1
is the first in a series of focussed-group, multi-sector gatherings that will help change-makers
apply the principles of innovation to their areas of work. Through such a user-led, multi-disciplinary
approach to innovation, we aim to identify new opportunities in the area of livelihoods that
can create more sustainable and far-reaching change in the lives of disadvantaged youth.
The workshop will take place over 2 days where you will get to participate in
collaborative, ideation sessions anchored by experts and practitioners.
A day wise agenda for the workshop will look like this:
DAY 1
Immerse participants in the employability context in India and identify agendas for
innovation and change. Participants will see presentations, films, hear and share
stories and examine insights gathered from the field.
DAY 2
Use the insights and innovation agenda generated on Day one and work in smaller
groups to develop the ideas into actionable programs. Each of these smaller groups
will be facilitated by experts from either design, technology or pedagogy.
The workshop will be followed up with an innovation book that brings together
all ideas from the two days. QUEST would also invite partnerships for specific
pilot projects and incubate some of the ideas generated in the workshop.
We would be glad to have you participate in this workshop. As a change-maker we feel you
can provide an invaluable perspective at some of the most pressing challenges in the area of
livelihoods in India and play an important role in setting the agenda and scope for Livelihood
Connect in years to come.
We request you to save the dates of 26th & 27th November 2009 in your calendar and help kick
start this initiative to collectively brainstorm, innovate and aspire for change.
Further details about the agenda, speakers, participants and venue will follow soon.
