History§ The State of Texas agreed to create a college on November of 1866 under the term of the Morrill Act.§ Formation didn’t come until the establishment of Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas on April 17, 1871.§ Teaching began in 1876§ In the 1960s the college began admitting women and minorities.§ In 1963 the Texas state legislature renamed the school to what is now Texas A&M University.§ The George Bush Presidential Library and museum opened in 1997.

Texas A&Mhave a program to get a certificate to become a post-secondary teacher. The program can be taken while in collegeto get your masters degree. This will be efficient because Iwouldn’t have to go back to get certified, or having a class onteaching, after getting my masters degree.
