The State of Texas agreed to create a college on November of 1866 under the term of the Morrill
Act.

9. Why I want to attend
this university?
I want to attend this university because I want to major in
history and become a post-secondary teacher. Texas A&M
have a program to get a certificate to become a post-
secondary teacher. The program can be taken while in college
to get your masters degree. This will be efficient because I
wouldn’t have to go back to get certified, or having a class on
teaching, after getting my masters degree.
