June 10, 2011 - With an open country, foreign investors flew to Singapore to take benefit of its
entrepreneurial landscape. Singapore has a very appealing taxation rates for business and personal
grade. In the Year of Assessment 2011, the business tax rates are even smaller than the present.
Foreign investors can move to Singapore to run their business. To gain eligibility, they need to own a
work visa. The Entrepreneur pass is different any other. It is designed based on the feasibility and
growth approximates of the businessman’s business. It does not take into account the educational
qualification of the foreign applicant. Rather, it searches into the outstanding entrepreneurial skills of

“Foreign investors who request to become a resident director in a private limited company or a

at S$50,000, and the Total enterprise Spending category,” cites Rikvin.
The enterprise design should be feasible and entrepreneurial in environment. It should focus the
business goals, identify the product or service, and identify the marketing schemes. Meanwhile, the
Total Business Spending is a necessity on the first year of doing enterprise. It pertains to the capability of
the businessman to hire local residents for one whole calendar year. It is also the basis of ascertaining
the kind of Entrepreneur pass issued.
“The Q1 kind of Entrepreneur pass needs a TBS of S$100,00 or 2 local residents as workers, and P2 type
needs a TBS worth S$150,000 or 4 local employees, and P1 is for a TBS starting at S$300,000 or 8 local
employees,” Rikvin clarifies.
Once it is handed out, the holder can relish its validity of up to 2 years and renewable as long as the
enterprise is earning & yields economic developments. The immediate family such as the lawful spouse
and unmarried children below age 21 can submit an application for a Dependant pass.
