Previous Synopsis Synopsis Ideas (Media Studies)    The group were discussing potential ideas about what the storyline could possibly be and what characters should be included in the thriller. Here are some of the many the group have discussed and expressed their thoughts on.
OUR COMPANY NAME – SOS Productions LTD Productions UJUM Media ARIC MONARCH Productions (Picked)     Two TENSES – Same Location – Different Settings. PAST Forest/Field. Lakeside. In the tent. PRESENT Police office – Outside and inside.   NUMBER OF PERFORMERS – 8 PERFORMERS – 5 murders. Most have no relation to each other. Motives unknown. 3 officers. Investigating case, no depth just an introduction. 1 killer? That’s a secret.
VOICE NARRATIVE ON THE EVENTS. Story begins on the countryside landscape. Everything is calm. A McGuffin is dropped in shot. Cuts to an officer exiting car, he is walking to the office. Sorting out papers, pens, composure and his tie. As he is walking. Cuts back to countryside First murder. Cuts back to walking. Cuts to second murder. Cuts back to opening door Cut’s to third murder. Cuts to him opening the door. Shot of his boss. Boss stops speaking. Boss throws two new images onto the table. Two new murders. – Last murder so far. One new officer comes in and brings in the new evidence. The first officer smiles. EXTREME CLOSE UP OF SMILE. END OF OPENING SEQUENCE, COMMENCING TITLE SEQUENCE Title sequence runs, introduces characters, names, title of film. End of TITLE SEQUENCE, END OF VIDEO.
The Six Murders THE SIX MURDERS One gets pushed into lake/river and drowns. One get’s poisoned. One get’s strangled. Two get killed by each other – They take hallucinogenic, they are two homosexuals, two lesbians, in the tent, about to engage in intercourse, they take the pills, one goes on top of the other, all intimate, one puts a plastic bag on the other, the other is suffocating, she then puts her hand on the others face, feels around for some object to stop her. The police think it was an accident. The police are baffled at why these people would be killed. They hear ominous music, they get freaked out. One police officer then throws some papers down. He has found apparent evidence. Shot is cut before anyone can see the evidence. Log Line Mysterious murders are happening in the country, the killer and his motives are unknown. What are the reasons for these killings? Why cant the Police work it out?
Problems PROBLEMS There are some problems with this idea. The lesbian scene in the tent – is over the top and slightly horror related. Unrealistic, cheesy. The walking scene, highly cliché way of doing a thriller, it’s overused and typical. NOT A GOOD IDEA. The deaths are not connected with anything. No Puzzle to storyline. No prop use etc. Locations are difficult to travel to.
