Lyme disease is also called as the Great Imitator. It is typically
transmitted by the bite of the Black Legged Tick. Lyme
ailment may also be transmitted from a mother to her unborn
baby.
The most conclusive sign of Lyme illness is the erythema migrans
(EM) bulls-eye rash. Rest of the symptoms may include Bell’s
Palsy, muscle and joint pain, cognitive defects, psychiatric
symptoms, sleep disturbances, fatigue, flu and a sense of feeling
poorly. If in case you develop irregular symptoms, there is
possibility of a tick-borne infection even if you don’t have the EM
rash. Extra tick-borne pathogens including Babesiosis,
Ehrlichiosis and others may be transmitted by the same tick bite.
As of now there are no listed cases of direct transmission of Bb
via blood.

The rash may appear on other places on your body than the bite
site as a single circular red mark that spreads outwards. The rash
is usually not itchy. The rash can be mistaken for a spider bite.
