BAA: PHILOSOPHY
3. BAA: ENVIRONMENT
Quality Training- According to USA Today,
"Quality training is the most important item. High
quality training can make a great difference in
developing the skill set necessary to be a
professional pilot." At Beach Aviation we are
"Professional Pilots training Professionals.”
Lifestyle and Longevity - Many pilots go on to
long, happy, productive careers living as ex-pats,
taking advantage of the ability to move around to
different countries every couple of years while
seeing parts of the world they'd never see
otherwise. As well, once you have this
experience, it's also easy to parlay it into a job as
an instructor teaching the locals in the
simulators.
Location- A study conducted by Pricewaterhouse
Coopers LLP ranked Florida as the most attractive
state in the nation for companies in the aviation
industry.

IN AVIATION
• According to Forbes Magazine, “2014 will be
the year that aviation careers begin to regain
the luster they once had.”
• According to a report conducted by Boeing,
about 533,000 new commercial airline pilots
and 584,000 new commercial airline
maintenance technicians will be needed over
the next two decades.
• Wages are on the rise! The Bureau of Labor
reports that Junior Captains earn around
$120,000 to $140,000 per year at major
airlines.
9. BAA: COURSE
PROGRAM
Aviation Summer Camp: An endorsement to
learn the requirements to take your private
written exam. Beach Aviation’s summer camp is
tailored for middle school and high school
students.
Private: With all flight training there are time
minimums set forth by the Federal Aviation
Administration that are a good general rule.
However, much like fuel efficiency in a car, the
government standards are "in a perfect world".
We have found that most Private Pilot
candidates complete the course in fifty (50)
hours. A Private Pilot certificate will allow you
to fly without compensation.
Instrument: In order to provide the "real-world"
training for the instrument rating we plan and
fly "real-world" flights with experienced
instructors. These training flights help prepare
the instrument candidate pilot for changing
weather, longer distance flights, interaction with
new and various FBOs, a potential for "Actual
IMC", and help meet the requirements for
cross-country time building.
Complex Endorsement: We provide training in
our Piper Arrow for the complex endorsement.
The complex endorsement is required prior to
the issuance of a Commercial Pilot Certificate
and is included with our Commercial Pilot
Certification.
10. BAA: COURSE
PROGRAM CONT’D
Commercial: "Don't Spill the Passenger's
Wine!" The Commercial Pilot Certification
course meets all the requirements of the
Federal Aviation Regulations using the Piper
Arrow as our complex trainer. More
importantly the training will help the
candidate by preparing for them for crew
operations, customer service with the
passengers, while building aviation
proficiency.
ATP: Airline Transport Pilot is the highest
level of aircraft pilot license. Those certified
as Airline Pilots are authorized to act as pilot
in command on schedule air carrier’s aircraft
under CFR 14 part 121.
CFI: Certified Flight Instructor is a person who
teaches others to fly aircraft. A flight instructor serves
to enhance or evaluate the knowledge and skill level
of an aviator in pursuit of a higher pilot’s license,
certificate or rating.
CFII: Certified Flight Instructor Instruments, this
training is dedicated to Instrument Pilot Students.
BGI: Basic Ground Instructor: This rating allows
the holder to give the ground instruction required for a
sport pilot, recreational pilot, or private pilot
certificate. The ground instructor certificate holder
may also endorse a student to take the written
knowledge test for these pilot certificates. Also, the
holder of a BGI can give sport pilot, recreational pilot,
or private pilot flight review.
11. BAA: COURSE
PROGRAM CONT’D
IGI: Instrument Ground Instruction: This
rating allows the holder to give the ground
instruction required for the addition of an
instrument rating to a pilot certificate; the
holder may also endorse a student to take the
written knowledge test for the instrument
rating, and can give the ground training
required for an instrument proficiency check. It
does not, however, authorize the holder to give
instruction in simulators.
AGI: Advanced Ground Instruction: This rating
allows the holder to give the ground instruction
required for any certificate or, effectively, any rating
(except for the Instrument Rating) issued under
Part 61, to give the ground training for any flight
review, and to endorse a student to take the written
knowledge test for any certificate or non-instrument
rating issued under Part 61. The AGI rating has
more extensive privileges than the BGI. Obtaining
the BGI first is not a requirement for the AGI.
