    • Gain credibility by being a great source of current information for your members
    • Asscoiations do NOT have ‘ the content problem‘

    • Associations can use their blog for:

      • Spotlight members accomplishments
      • Welcome/ introduce new members to the community

      • Thank sponsors and affiliates
    • In the past press releases were written solely to get press coverage
    • FACT: Most press releases get NO media coverage whatsoever!
    • Nowadays press releases are for:
      • Search engine optimization
      • Distribution through Social Media
      • Links to your website
      • Increase website search rank
      • Increase findability online
    • Publish your press releases on your blog!!!

    • Great for professional networking and event promotion!
    • If you don't have one already go and create a profile!
    • LinkedIn is a professional network thus not as viral as facebook!
    • Use LinkedIn to create and promote your events www.events.linkedin.com
    • Follow and join groups and discussions!
  • 9. Stay Informed about Competitors and your Industry!
    • Google Alerts is a great tool to stay informed! Simply enter your search terms, select type of news and how often you would want Google to send you information. Yahoo and technorati.com have similar graders...!
    Shows you how many searches per month happen for a specific keyword or set of keywords. The tool can also analyze competitors keywords! It also tells you how hard it will be to rank for a certain keyword!!! Alexa provides a popular traffic ranking and offers insight into where your inbound links are coming from. You can also analyze a competitors website 
  • 10. Is Twitter a Business Tool?
    • The Twitter stream in itself is fairly useless
    • Addon tools such as Tweetdeck allow you
    • to filter Tweets by keyword, schedule tweets,
    • interact with people...
  • 11. Event & Content Promotion
    • Ping.fm allows you to register multiple
    • Social Media accounts. When you post
    • an update on ping.fm it will automatically
    • be posted to all the other Social Media
    • profiles you registered!
