Airlines and their
    Facebook landing pages
They say that the landing page is the most important
  piece of marketing on Facebook profile.
First impression is crucial



 When people go to the Facebook page and are not entirely sure if
they want to join it or not the landing page is the one thing that may
                             win them over.


   Instead of showing the next ”wall” (thats what pops up when
  there is no customiesed landing page) it is really worth it to show
 someting more characteristic, special, directely linked to the brand.
TOP 20
airlines on
Facebook
I checked out all   20   pages
And here is what I found
           …
A lot of airlines do not have a landing
page at all:
It seems like a high number, 6 out of 20
airlines (from the TOP 20 LIST) on
Facebook do not take an opportunity, not
only to connect with people but also to
advertise at almost no cost
American Airlines, EMIRATES, Air Asia.
One would expect that brands like that
spend significant amount of time and money
to prepare their Facebook strategies.
Somehow their all missed the importance of
landing pages.
A few of them are still using FBML
(an application that allowed to create a landing page)
which Facebook does not support anymore.
An airline that takes care of its online community should make
an effort to follow what is going on in terms of the technology
that is available. Alternatively, it should make people who are
paid to manage the community more up to date with what is
going on.
What about the rest of
airlines from the
TOP 20 list?
”Lets just put the bits of our schedule and
tickets’ prices as our landing page”


 The case of
It does not look
that good!
Esspecially, with
the great chunk
of it taken by
the terms &
conditions
The old good "join us and we
may give you something!"
The airlines that attract their fans
through possibility of winning a prize
”I will show you all I have”
The airlines that are trying to put
everything they offer into a very limited
space!
Putting it all together


 Some airlines are not trying to impress people with thier landing pages
   at all

 Some airlines are focusing on attracting fans who are mainly
  interested in prizes rather than the brand

 Some airlines are trying to cram as much info as they can into thier
  landing pages
