This is a question and answer slide to establish if the students understand that everybody is responsible for health and safety around the college. Management ensure that all legislation can be adhered to and ensure that staff fully understand their responsibility for health and safety. Teaching staff deal with health and safety on a day to day basis in the classroom, on educational trips and the sports field, reporting issues that need to be addressed to the management. Students look after themselves and each other.
Question students before giving answers
Question the students before giving the answers
Take students through the route they will take from the base classroom. If you are on either floors 1 or 2 stop and explain what the refuge points are for and who may be using them in an evacuation. Show the students the first aid room and then take to assembly point.
