1. Peppermint Hot
Chocolate
Cooking recipes: For a special treat for the kids after
brunch, serve this drink garnished with whipped cream
and mini candy canes also with other healthy meals.
Ingredients:
2 cups (500 mL) milk
1 tbsp (15 mL) granulated sugar
2 oz (57 g) bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
1-1/2 oz (43 g) milk chocolate, finely chopped
1/4 tsp (1 mL) peppermint extract
Directions:
1. In saucepan, bring milk, sugar and 1 cup (250
mL) water to boil over medium heat. Remove
from heat.
2. Whisk in bittersweet and milk chocolates until
melted. Stir in peppermint extract. (Makeahead: Let cool; refrigerate in airtight container
for up to 24 hours. Reheat to serve.)
