This technical presentation will examine how ArcGIS Online Services can be used within FME Workbench by using the ArcGIS REST API. With FME 2013 Safe Software started to make use of ArcGIS Online Services as Basemaps in FME Data Inspector and through various Custom Transformers like ArcGISOnlineGeocoder, ArcGISOnlineGeoenricher and ArcGISServiceAreaCalculator. This session explains the basic concepts of the ArcGIS REST API and its usage within FME Workbench. Examples illustrate how these transformers can be easily extended and completely new Custom Transformer can be created making usage of ArcGIS Online Services. Beside the usage of ArcGIS Online Services to manipulate data, Feature Services can be used to store data and publish it in ArcGIS Online Maps. Attendees will get an understanding of Custom Transfomers and ArcGIS REST API.

In Denmark, we have over 1500 different open data layers. This data is within the environment, planning, ground maps, height data and the building area. The many data come from different data sources, and it is not easy to get an overview of where which data is available and where. Our colleagues use a lot of different data in their work with customer projects, this is from our architects to our engineers. They work in many different programs, such as Autocad, Revit, Microstation and Qgis and in different coordinate systems. This is where FME comes to the rescue. We present an architecture of embedding models, vector databases, LLMs, and narrow ML for tracking global news narratives across a variety of countries/languages/news sources. As an example, we explore the real-time application of this architecture for tracking the news narrative surrounding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny coming from Russian, French, and English sources.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry. Corporate and higher education. Two industries that, in the past, have had a clear divide with very little crossover. The difference in goals, learning styles and objectives paved the way for differing learning technologies platforms to evolve. Now, those stark lines are blurring as both sides are discovering they have content that’s relevant to the other. Join Tammy Rutherford as she walks through the pros and cons of corporate and higher ed collaborating. And the challenges of these different technology platforms working together for a brighter future.

Terragrunt, Terraspace, Terramate, terra... whatever. What is wrong with Terraform so people keep on creating wrappers and solutions around it? How OpenTofu will affect this dynamic? In this presentation, we will look into the fundamental driving forces behind a zoo of wrappers. Moreover, we are going to put together a wrapper ourselves so you can make an educated decision if you need one.
