As founder and sole principal of Pilot Capital Investments, LLC, in Los Angeles, California, Rei Umekubo acquires and manages a diverse portfolio of value-added and distressed real estate investments throughout the western United States. Before establishing Pilot Capital in 2011, he completed a range of property investing and fund management projects in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Australia. Over the course of his 30-year career, Rei Umekubo has served tenures as Managing Director of MSREF in Asia; Executive Chairman and CEO of the Investa Property Group in Sydney, Australia; Executive Vice President and COO of daVinci Fund Advisors in Tokyo.
