16. Are we still boycotting
HarperCollins?
Yes
As of Monday, March 14, 2011, HarperCollins is still limiting the

23. An open letter to America’s publishers
from ALA President Maureen Sullivan
It’s a rare thing in a free market when a customer is refused the ability to buy
a company’s product and is told its money is “no good here.” Surprisingly,
after centuries of enthusiastically supporting publishers’ products, libraries
find themselves in just that position with purchasing e-books from three of
the largest publishers in the world. Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and
Penguin have been denying access to their e-books for our nation’s 112,000
libraries and roughly 169 million public library users.
32. Government Response to the
Independent Review of E-Lending in
Public Libraries in England
Written by William Sieghart
March 2013
Libraries services are evolving, and E-Lending represents one of
many technological developments that can help them meet the
increasingly high expectations of their membership. Many library
authorities have been quick to embrace early E-Lending solutions,
and others are investigating provision that meets local demand.
