The Wedding of Sarien Human & Hugo Slabbert August 4, 2007, Minter Gardens, Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Sarien dressed in the Human home in Kevin and Abbotsford – see those shoes with attitude! Sherrin decorated the two Muranos (theirs and Nico’s) that took the ladies to Minter Gardens. The bridesmaids (in red) and honorary bridesmaids (in orange): F.l.t.r. Corlea (Hugo’s sister), Tabitha (Tabbi), Claire, Sarien, Amanda and Robin. Proud Mom Estelle and Dad Nico with the beautiful bride.

Soon to be father‐in‐ Sarien with Aunt Susan (Sanpat), Grandma Sarie and Aunt law Alwyn also Antoinette (Netjie) – above, and Mom Estelle (below). dropped in. With brother Jurie’s girlfriend, Lili.

Waiting for Daddy Arriving at Minter Gardens Here comes the Bride!

Kai (9) and Lia (8) played their fiddles while the guests waited. The bridesmaids procession. Dad Nico lifted the veil with Pastor Todd looking mighty pleased (left) … and they are together at last! (below). Hugo waited with grooms‐ men Jurie, Ken and Adam. Grandma Sarie Lahoud brought the rings on Grandma Sarie Human’s cushion (left) … the Moms read a blessing (below). That kiss! They laughed when the ring got stuck! (Look at that backdrop!)

They signed the papers … with the parents looking on ... They poured the ceremonial sand… With brother Jurie’s girlfriend, Lili. They were pronounced Mr and Mrs Hugo and Sarien Slabbert! (See the bubbles.)

The Chocolate Fountain. Sherrin was the superb MC. Guests finding their tables. “Dipping the Cake” ceremony. Parents enjoying vegetarian dishes.

The Dads toasted their new kids … and The main table bouquet. the happy couple. The couple brought their wishes. Table bouquet close‐up. Retha (who decorated the cake from old photographs) and Suzan (whose wedding anniversary the kids honoured) at the replica of Suzan’s wedding cake, that was unveiled as a surprise for Suzan.

Father Daughter Dance. Now where is that garter? The First Dance. The big surprise! Sarien and Hugo’s secret dance lessons paid off big time!
