A "Tech Tip" is a short and easy way to learn technical tip of a NayaMed device feature.
This third topic is covering a best practice in programming Wavelet.
2. NAYAMED TECH TIP #3
Best practice
in programming
Wavelet
The Wavelet feature compares the patient’s current QRS
waveform to a collected and stored template of the
patient’s QRS waveform in sinus rhythm. VT/VF detection
is withheld if the current waveform sufficiently matches
the template thereby preventing inappropriate therapy for
sinus tachycardia or SVT.
3. NAYAMED TECH TIP #3
NayaMed ND X4 VR Clinical Manual, Page 191.
The NayaMed single-chamber ICDs use the EGM2 channel for
template creation and comparison. Nominally the EGM2 source
is set as Can to RVcoil and the EGM2 Range is ±12 mV.
Wavelet may be tailored to your patient by simply printing
EGM2 (using the programmer strip chart recorder) and
evaluating the signal:
If the baseline-to-peak R-wave amplitudes are too large (either clipped
or within 1 mV of the EGM2 Range), consider selecting a larger EGM2
Range value.
If the peak-to-peak R-wave amplitudes on the EGM2
trace are less than 3 mV, consider selecting a different
EGM2 source.
