2. Catherine was born in Madrid, on the night of 16 December 1485. Catherine was quit snort in
stature with long red hair, wide blue eyes, a round face.
3. Her parents were King Ferdinand 2 of Aragon and Queen Isabella 1 of Castile.
4. In 1507 she served as the Spanish Ambassador for England, thus becoming the first female
ambassador in European history.
5. She married Henry 8 who had only just acceded to the throne. She was 23 years of age.
6. On 18 February 1516, Catherine gave birth a healthy girl. She was named Mary, subsequently
queen Mary 1.
7. Henry 8 divorced with Catherine in 1533. their marriage was annulled. She live out remainder of
her life at Kimbolton Castle, and died there on 7 January 1536.
