ABSTRACT
Catch Me If You Can (Catch Me If You Can in the original version) is a 2002
comedy-drama, based on the life of Frank Abagnale Jr., who before the age of
nineteen years old got millions of dollars by posing as a company pilot airborne,
doctor and lawyer. Their main modus operandi was check forgery, a crime in which
he achieved such skill and experience that the FBI finally recruited him as a
consultant on such scams.
Steven Spielberg directed the film, whose protagonists are Leonardo DiCaprio as
Abagnale, Tom Hanks as well, Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen,
and Nathalie Baye.

3. The idea for the film began to develop around 1980. With the beginning of the XXI
century, filmmakers such as David Fincher, Gore Verbinski, Lasse Hallström, Miloš
Forman and Cameron Crowe were related sometime catch me if you can.
Spielberg (who was originally going to be a producer) decided to become a project
manager, discarding others like Big Fish and Memoirs of a Geisha. Filming took
place from February to May 2002. Catch Me If You Can was a critical and box
office, and the real Abagnale called it positively.
CAST
 Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Abagnale Jr.: Before he was 19 years old,
Frank got millions of dollars of checks as a pilot for the airline Pan Am, as a
physician and abogado.3
 Tom Hanks as Carl Hanratty: An FBI agent who chases Frank Jr. during
most of the film. Hanratty is often mocked by other agents who are not
serious about cases of check fraud. Hanratty is divorced, and his daughter
and his wife live in Chicago. Eventually, Carl and Frank Jr. become great
amigos.4
 Christopher Walken as Frank Abagnale Sr: Frank's father, a veteran of
World War II. Mr. Frank loses his wife Paula and their health after
committing tax evasion. Shortly afterwards dies by falling on the tracks at
Grand Central.5
 Amy Adams as Brenda Strong: Before serving as a nurse in Georgia,
Brenda had had an induced abortion. His parents strictly Lutheran thrown
out of his house, until he meets Frank Jr.6
 Martin Sheen as Roger Strong: Brenda's father, and husband of Carol.
Roger is a famous district attorney in Louisiana, and is easily convinced that
Frank Jr. had graduated from law school. His alma mater is the University of
California, Berkeley.7
 Nathalie Baye as Paula Abagnale: Mr. Frank met Paula when she was 18
years old in Montrichard, France during World War II. Six weeks later, the
couple married. Mr. Frank Paula and Frank Jr. were divorced when I was
fifteen, and then married Paula Jack Barnes. At the end of the film, Paula
and have Jack hija.8
 James Brolin as Jack Barnes: Mr. Frank A partner in the Rotary Club of New
Rochelle, New York. Barnes later has an affair with Paula, leading to the
divorce of the parents of Frank Jr.9
 Nancy Lenehan as Carol Strong: Brenda's mother and wife of Roger. When
Frank Jr. thinks was a doctor, lawyer and Lutheran, was very excited at the
prospect of marrying his hija.10

4.  Ellen Pompeo and Elizabeth Banks have supporting roles. Brian Howe,
Frank John Hughes and Chris Ellis portray FBI agents. Jennifer Garner has
a cameo as a prostitute.
The real Frank Abagnale appears as one of the French police who arrest her
character.
