2. Simplify
Is your New Years resolution list fifteen items long? I would
suggest cutting it down to one or two, and really honing in on
those. It's easier to make change when your attention isn't split
between many different things.
3. Break it down
Once you've chosen your main resolutions, you need a game
plan. Break how you're going to achieve change into small
steps. Make a list!
4. Find Enjoyment in your Goal
Of course you're not going to take steps that make you
miserable, no matter how much one activity could benefit you
in the long run. Don't focus on the difficult part. Instead, find a
resolution buddy and make it into a fun challenge.
5. Celebrate the Victories
Don't wait until you've fully achieved your goal to take note of
how far you've come. Even a week of working toward your goal
is a reason to treat yourself!
6. Be Mindful
You know yourself best. Be mindful of yourself, your likes and
dislikes, and make your resolutions work for you. For example,
if you like quiet and want to move around more, try an early
morning walk or meditative yoga instead of an intense workout
class.
